Which Oil Filter Do You Use

The big reason for my dislike of the fram filter.    Most filter manufacturers use metal end caps of the filter media fram does not they use cardboard.

After running across some research someone did on various filters, I cut a few apart myself a few years ago. That put an instant stop to my use of Frams. I don't like cardboard end caps, either. I use Mobil 1, but there are some other really good ones out there; Napa Gold and Wix, as Mdz66 noted, and a couple of others that I don't recall.

Baldwin filters and Mobil 1 oil. I have read that Baldwin makes the Am-soil filters. Do a search on Baldwin filters, I think you will be impressed.

Way better than a fram. ?Appears to be a high quality filter but my local my local NAPA is 3 minutes away and they stock plenty 1522's

All previous trucks used AC Delco OEM filters.  I used a Mobil 1 on this one and probably will continue.  I wanted the K&N because of the welded nut on the top of the case, but the local Autozone wanted $22 for it!!!!!

Hi,

I stated earlier that I'm using Napa Gold filters.  Just thought I would post the number.  It's the Napa 7060 filter for the 2007 5.3L engine.

plutnicki, you can get the K&N oil filter from Stylintrucks for $9.99. When i purchse other items I pick up 2 or 3 K&N oil filters so I save on shipping.  (y)

Generally if you pay more than $5 and its not orange you got a pretty good filter.?
you can get two AC's for that where I get them (y)dealership employee discount

Ive been using Mobil 1 filters ever since 30K (refused to go to the stealership anymore), But have recently changed from mobil 1 synth to Royal Purple Synth, and I tell you what, my truck seems to run better with it. The tranny loves it as does the Rear Diff (y).

lockcop you sure do pull up old post. This on is 3 years old.

:B: MS03 2500  I spend a lot of nights in hotel rooms while out of town working and this is more constructive then drinking in strange bars in strange towns. :kidding:

I concur on the Frams  they are low budget filters.  they clog faster and send more oil through the bypass. It probably has to do with the cardboard end caps flexing under pressure.  I even stopped using them on my motorcycles.  I use mobile one or napa

Here is a Fram
