Once a oil pressure sensor has been replaced does the new sensor take time to work consistently ie. need the trucks computer to teach it or program?

Instant.

Be careful. Just because the crankcase is full doesn't mean there is adequate oil pressure. There could be a blockage of some sort causing a drop in oil pressure. It is quite possible you got a faulty sensor since a new part doesn't always equate to a good part. But something could also be contributing to a pressure loss.

Since your truck appears to be a 2008, did you remove and replace the filter screen that sits under the oil pressure sensor?

This screen is only on 2007+ AFM engines.
