Allright after reading all of the postings on the stock audio (BOSE) I want to rip it out. My previous vehicke was a Rodeo and I had a Kenwood HU with 600 watts of power with 2-10" subs - two 8" mid subs - etc, etc. This factory system is OK for those who dont know better but I need the feel and clarity of the old system. Heres where you guys come in. Give me some system set-up and ideas on how to change the existing. Links are a good thing and photos are also appreciated.

first thing i would do is rip out that stock HU and replace it with something XM ready. then of course you want an amp to push a sub or two. depending what you plan on using the truck for you could take the mid-gate out and replace it with a mid-gate built for subs and your amp(s). or you could go the under-the-seat route with the subs. just as i told another memeber, a local installer told me that the speakers in the truck are actually not bad for pushing high's and mid's. put in an after market woofer, enclosure, and amp. then you will have a nice sounding system for no a lot of money.

P.S. be sure to check out the threads in the Audio section. nice ideas, pics, and how-to's. good luck! :B:

If you have an '03, you will need to do some reading as it is no longer as simple as yanking the head and replacing it. NOt to say that it is more difficult, just that you will need to have adaptors to keep the databus intact, retain door chimes and engine oil life indicator, and kkeep onstar if you desire.

If you are going to upgrade the sounds, you have to trash all the stock speakers. It would make no sense to keep them and upgrade everything else.
