Same here for me, 5 or later would be fine, there's a number of places we could wind up at that are near downtown....

I'm working on it. I should be good to go as well. Rick's Cafe Boatyard is down there on the river. It's a nice place for drinks etc. Food is good but a hair on the expensive side.

Hmmm, let me see if I can up the SOM count.

Let's see what gets worked. I may be able to swing by.

Looks like I definitely have to bring my AV now.  :B:

How about Dave & Busters from 4pm until 8pm or ??

There's a Hooters right next to it too.

12405 W. Center Road
Omaha, NE 68144

We could do Hooters and then Dave and Busters?

David

David,
I realize you're probably going by address or mapquest or some such. But, they're not right next to each other. They're about a mile apart. But, still both on Center St., though.

Take your pick. I'd be up for either locale.

E J

Oh, yeah, ChevyThunder, this is another GTG in the northwest.  ;)

I'm cool with either location. Depending on everyones schedule this fall, this may be my last GTG with you all. I will be driving out of here for good on the 1st or 2nd of November, so the more the merrier.

Dave & Busters might be fun, I've never been in there yet.?

FWIW, they're not anywhere near the airport, but I won't complain because it's more or less on the way home for me.....

Yeah, further west works better for us too. The flight leaves at 3 so we will probably drop off by 1pm. That gives us some time to kill and probably hit Dave and Busters around 4pm.

We'd love to do it sooner but realize that some people have to work on a wednesday afternoon. :)

If yer heading out west after the airport, then this does make sense for you David.? It'll probably be around 5:30 or so before I can get out there.? The building Dave & Busters is in used to be a big store, they have a large parking lot out front so hopefully there should be plenty of room to park the Avs together.?

I'll also let a few other Av owners I work with (3 to be exact) know about the GTG, so maybe we'll have a few more. :woohoo:

What kind of stuff are you interested in?? We can probably suggest a few things to do to kill a little time that afternoon.

I've updated the first post with the official details.

MAB, depending on what time we get done at the airport might just make a stop at Hardees or may look for a bigger time killer.

Oohh, Hardees, that could be a big time killer, just looking for one!? I don't think there are any in Omaha anymore......

Well, lets see, you're too early for fall colors around here...

You could go visit Boys Town (of Father Flannigan - Mickey Rooney movie fame), that would be right on your way to Dave & Busters, there's several other good museums in the area (Durham Western Heritage, Union Pacific Historical, Western Trails Historic Center), the Zoo is pretty well known, there's the Old Market district just south of Downtown, there are casinos over in Council Bluffs (oh wait you need to leave town WITH money), etc.

There's also a number of really nice parks around, starting with Heartland of America park right downtown.? You could also take a drive out around 55th and Harney Sts and see Warren Buffet's house (looks pretty much like any other in the area) or drive out to Linden Estates (just north of 144th & Dodge) and see some of the big houses out that way.? Also you can find the birthplaces of Gerald Ford and Malcom X in town.

Have a GPS radio?? Like to geocache?? You could play the Omahaopoly series, that'll get you all over town to some pretty unusual locations (there's 23).

David,

Just call me when you get in to town and I can help you out with sites, or just killing time. I can also show you how to get to D&B's.
I'll PM you my number.

Sean.

There is still a hardie's Drive in left at 33rd and "L" street....But If it's burgers you like you cannot beat Don And Millie's  or the legenary"Goldberg's" at 50th Dodge street.....
