Well my free year is up tomorrow. So I called onstar today.
I told them I was a member of the Chevy Av club and that I wanted to pay 149.00 for renewal just like other members did. The adviser couldn't' help so I ask to speak with a supervisor. I told her the same and I said if she didn't give me the same deal I was canceling my account. It work. Plus I got two extra months for my trouble.

Nice job! I have to re-up by the 30th, thanks for the news.

Anyone else get a good deal on OnStar lately?

I wish I would have known this before I renewed last month :E: Since I am on a month to month at $16.95 you think if I called and said that I want to cancel they will give me a better deal ??? Worth a shot I guess.

2 fee months must be the standard On$tar appeasement. They extended my free year by 2 months after it took them 3 weeks to get the dang thing authorized.

Bill "truckdream"

Bill----You meant $149 a year.

You get some SERIOUS, SERIOUS peace of mind knowing that if something bad happens while you're in your vehicle, you've got help at the push of a button. Not long ago, my wife had an allergic reaction to something she ate at a restaurant. While driving home (alone), her throat began to swell and she started to suffocate. Onstar was able to locate her, and send an ambulance within a few minutes. Without Onstar, she probably wouldn't be here today. I don't know about most people that say "it's a waste of money", you CANNOT put a price on the incident that we went through. I'll always have Onstar in my vehicles and glady pay 200 bucks a year for it.

I'm not one that got dragged kicking & screaming into the information age but I had successfully avoided getting a cell phone until I traded my '02 for a loaded '04. I still haven't used my OnStar or my 60 day/30 minutes except to activate it. I plan to test out the phone when I visit my cousin in the Yoop this month. OnStar just offered me one year/101 minutes for $19.95 so I took it. Since OnStar is already paid for a year and I don't intend to use the phone alot it seemed like a good deal. Now I have 131 minutes and a year to use them. :)

$149/ yr sounds like a very good deal to me. My dealer told me it's about $300/ yr plus if you want more options. I said no to $300 but will consider if $149/ yr.

Has anyone gotten the $149.00 rate for Onstar Safe and Sound lately? My free year ends 10/31/04 and I'd like to keep it if I can get it for $149.
