My right hand O/S R/V mirror will not rotate inboard to the door or outboard from the stowed position. It will adjust the glass mirror; just won't make the mirror assembly play out or in except intermittently. Looking for a replacement switch I notice that for 2000 to 2002 and from 207 and up you can get JUST the mirror switch for about $35.00 to $55.00 on Amazon and other sites; for the 2006 (the year I need) Avi you have to buy the complete switch, the window, door lock, and mirror as an assembly. Of course this cost 3 X as much, that is until you call the local (Dealer) Stealer; he wants $319.00 for it and I'll have you know there are 19 of them in Reno, NV. Well I be they are going to have 19 of them for a very long time; AC Delco wants $174.00 for it, Parts Geek and others want a lot less for the thing. I just want the mirror switch. Does anyone know if the 2000 to 2002 will fit, the top side of the switch looks identical to the one in my 2006....

Just to take a step back, how was the switch determined to be bad? What you describe sounds like a broken gear inside the folding side view mirror assembly. Especially if only one side is causing the issue and the button controls both sides. I could be making too many assumptions or misreading or whatever, but just wanted to confirm.

I guess a gear could be broken, I never thought of that, it did work at one time but in a crazy, intermittent way...I'll have to get some one to operate the switch while I listen at the mirror... Thanks for the insight! I don't suppose anyone knows how to disassemble the mirror without destroying it???!!!

I searched around a little bit but do not see a video for the 1st gens.. Is this a 2nd gen feature stuffed into a late 1st gen truck or was folding mirror a factory option?

Here is a video on the 2nd gen

The Service Parts ID show the RPO code for the heated remote control, blinker in the glass mirror. Truck was built in mid 2005.
