Outside temperature and compass have disappeared

I have a 2009 LT that we’ve had since new with 81K. I was having temperature control issues with the HVAC panel (could not adjust temperature up or down on the driver’s side, stayed cool all of the time) so I replaced the unit with a NOS panel. The HVAC now works perfectly but the outside air temperature and compass have disappeared from the tach. WTH???

Take the mirror down and open it up and look for bad solder joints (resistors), resolder them. You will know the bad ones because they won't be shinny and the solder will not be smooth. Easy fix and if you can't fix it the bone yard has plenty used ones.

Unlike my ‘07 Silverado which has the compass / temp display in the mirror, my Avalanche has (had) it in the tach, next to the odometer, etc.

I think he is referring to the DIC
