So what is supposed to be the max cargo weight in the back of an Av?

I think I exceeded it by LOTS....

40 (60#) bags of Quicrete and 40 (#30) Fence Posts....

I had to take my hitch out as to not drag or bottom out. :D:

With close to 2 tons in the bed, I'm surprised that your shocks didnt explode :3:. If your hitch was dragging, you were definitely overloded.

Sounds like if you had stopped to fill the gas tank the springs would have shot out the back end...LOL (y) By the way, did you have Snake Eyes on the front bumper so you could watch the road instead of the sky? ???

A little over loaded....Ya think!!!.....LOL

Anyway, I just gave the whole thread some ....Nothing but + karma from this guy.

How AVish!

An "Oh Yea" (Positive Karma) for you.

That's like placing my 3000 pound camper on the bed of the Av instead of towing it behind me!

I know you can get the Av going, but how the heck did you stop the Av with all the weight? ??? My camper has its own trailer brakes and is still tough to stop.

The total payload for a 1500 AV according to the factory is 1200 lbs (soaking wet) and towes I think 8500. Bet she has some real ghetto bounce in her step now or the ever-present ker-chunk at every stop. Sorry man.

Here is a pic of my 1500 with about 2200 LBS in the back...

Well, we know he at least made it to a computer. ;)

The truck may be a different story
Now that's funny right there...I hope your overloaded AV trip went well (y) Here's some  for you!

Thank you for letting us know what is possible. I have put over 1500 lbs in my 1500 and was very pleased with how well it road and handled. I am glad they over engineer them.

We loaded a 3120 lb pallet of chop rock in the back of my 03 AV with the Z66 pkg. Made it about a 1/2 mile and decided it was too much wait for the 30 mile trip.

Off loaded about 1000 lbs and completed the trip hauling 2100lbs.

Actually the truck drove pretty nice with 2100lbs. We kept it 60MPH and under.
