Has anyone come up with a solution to the code p0307 code coming up that is accompanied by the check engine light flashing and service traction control
My 2007 4x4 LTZ avy did this to me yesterday when i got into it and started to drive away. The engine started to run rough, the transmission shifted extremely hard 1-2 ,the check engine light started to flash,it said stabilitrak off and service traction control. When I scanned the truck, only code it gave me was p0307
I had read of others experiencing the same issue but have not found anyone with a solution posted...
Sorry if this topic has come up already
I have just run out of warranty on it and don't want the dealer to hose me on it....
please help :E:

Well the P0307 is a misfire number 7 cylinder and yes I was surprise to find out it will trigger both stabilitrak off and service traction control.

Just wondered why it seemed to be the number 7 cylinder that I have read most others had as well
The truck was parked in the garage for about 3 weeks and then I took it for a ride of about 6km and parked it for about 2 hrs..when I started it back up,all the things I mentioned happened at once..I coldnt get codes on anything else but the 7 cyl misfire

I would take a look at the spark plug wire maybe even remove the plug to see what it looks like.

I will have to start there since it is the only code it threw so far
thanks for your reply

I'm having the same problem with my 07. It just started two day ago. Its at the shop but I'm not sure they know whats wrong with it. Did you find a fix??

I know this is an old thread but it pops up in a search so I'll add what I've found.
I have an '07 Z71 with the 5.3l and have found that the coils are junk.  I have replaced 2 of them and suspect a third is going.
I haven't scanned for the codes but I've gotten the Stabilitrak off and Service Traction Control light come on and when this happened I noticed arcing on the drivers side valve covers.  Turns out 2 separate times the coils have cracked open causing the arcing.  Replaced coils and all was well.
Something to consider.

this happened on my 2013 yesterday.  Just reviving this old thread

I have the same problem but cylinder #3....one guy told me I had a leaking valve and need to get the heads redone...anyone know where I can get a complete rebuild kit for the engine and heads???????

My 2012 Avy has been in for P0300 code at 12000K and 98000K and both times the #7 cylinder was misfiring causeing the stabilitrak/Traction control to go on/off and the engine light to flash and engine was running very rough. The #7 lifter was stuck in the lifter bore. Both repairs were under warrantly thankfully and both times all 8 AFM lifters were replaced as per PIP4568L( whatever that means...). I am now fighting with GM for a new engine as mine I feel is flawed. Anyone else have or have heard of this issue before??

I love me Av but I fear I may have to trade it in before warranty expires at 160000K

I had the same issue a few months ago. The info on the Heads up display/Driver Information.. I did some looking and I was reading that if you get moisture under your intake mainfold, where the knock sensors are it could cause a like this do the the sensor and the wiring getting wet. The info display cleared and the code didn't come back after I cleared it. I also stopped washing the engine way as vigorously as I usually do. I keep it pretty clean. Just don't spend to much time sprayin in the engine bay. Specially around the intake manifold. THose 2 pieces of foam at the front and back of the manifold are only there to keep large debris from under it and so forth. Not to keep moisture out.

Also an update:  When I had this issue, it not only told me about the stabilitrak, it also said service 4wheel drive. And my 4x4 wouldn't switch at all. Lights wouldn't even come, on the 4x4 contols.

All I know is that my issue happened 6 months ago or so, and it hasn't happened since.

I had the same issues as above except I had a really bad miss. I replaced the plugs and wires about 4 months age with all ACDelco parts. Problems went away until 3 days ago. Now all problems have returned. Scanned computer and got P0300(multipule missfire), P0307(cyl 7 missfire), P0705(trans range sensor a circuit) and C0561( ABS disabled). Pulled #7 plug and its destroyed. Was told could possibly be a bad coil pack but not sure. Mine is a 2007 Avy with 5.3 LC9. I have a pic of plug but not sure how to post it on here.

Well, I'm back now with more issues related to the traction control and service stabilitrack.... 2 weeks ago I needed a new CV axle so I replaced both and both hub assemblies as well as all new brakes and rotors. I replaced the 2 front hub assemblies because I was having an issue with the stabilitrack kicking on at low speed while I was turning to maneuver into parking spots, it seemed like the left front and rear wheels were jumpin like they were in 4x4 or traction was kicking in.... This happened every time it would rain. So I did all the replacing and so forth. A week later it rained so I took it out to see if it would happen again. It did. I decided to take some electrical dielectric grease and coat all the abs/stabilitrack connections I could find, by putting it around the wires at the connections and anywhere water could get through. I even did this on all the wire connections I could fine under my Avy including the lil motor on the front diff and the ones on the trans. Another week later it was raining and low and behold, still doing it. So I pulled the abs and the traction control fuses under the hood. Everything seemed to be fine for a month. Today it is raining so I figured I would spin my tires a little bit. Even with the fuses pulled, there was a slight traction pause then they let loose. I tried it again because I was irritated that there still seemed like a traction control grab in the beginning. There it was again. I noticed it was only on the back left wheel it seemed though. I was lucky to not have any issued with my Avy until 128k miles, now I am having all the problems everyone else is.

No codes in system either.

Any help would be appreciated.

So yesterday I was driving home on my 2007 I needed gas went to pump gas drove off and the truck started miss firing and it’s throwing this code p0307 for cylinder #7 have y’all found an actual fix

Could be a fouling #7 spark plug. How long have you had your Avalanche? Do you know if it's burning oil?

At about 116,000 miles I had a #7 misfire that ultimately came back to the oil consumption issue. Dealership replaced the valve cover with a newer version that had a redesigned PCV valve. I also disabled AFM a short time later. Not sure which actually resolved the issue but haven't had a problem since.

I just got it 2 months ago there was oil in the spark plug wen I took it out I replaced the valve cover gasket 2 weeks ago was running good until I stoped to put gas then from there the problems started

Hi Guys!! New here, So I have 2010 that has that same code for P0307, I did plug and wire, and swapped Coil PAck, and doing a compression test in the morning. Anything else that I can do, the truck does have 200K miles, maybe it's time for a trade-in for another??

LMK Your thoughts.

Thanks
