Hi,I have a 2004 that is a dark slate[ gray] color. It has a few scratches that could use some touch up paint.can anybody tell me what paint to order off Amaon or the official name of the color and where I can get it ??Thanks.

Your paint code should be printed on the bottom of the RPO code tag on your glove box door.

^^^ What he said about the paint color. The RPO sticker will have a code on the bottom that looks like BC/CC #### that is the code for the paint. The BC/CC means Base Coat/Clear Coat which means that some of the "scratches" may just be in the clear and may only need to be buffed out. Deeper scratches would require the touch up paint.

One thing you might have to consider is the original paint is 17 years old and is bound to be faded from factory new paint.

A valid point to consider.

However, I want to add my experience to this.

This past summer, I decided to remove the black dealer name sticker off of the tailgate of my Victory Red 2003 Avalanche I had bought a few months earlier.

The sticker had been left on by the previous owner since the day the truck was purchased back in 2003.

I just knew going in that there would be a darker red impression of the dealer's name once the stickers were removed.

To my pleasure, I found absolutely no fading had occurred and the paint across the tailgate is a consistent red all the way across.

I guess the paint is better than I had imagined.

The front of the truck certainly shows the battle scars of the past quarter million miles, but the rear of the truck looks brand new.
