Does anyone that is coming to the Paris Landing meet know how to tune a CB antenna and own a SWR meter with a connector cable?
If so could you bring the SWR meter and cable in order to assist in getting a CB antenna tuned. We have a member in need of someone with these skills and tools.

We'd be much obliged

I think I can dig through my gear and find what you need. I am a ham (amateur radio operator, N9MOX). I do know how to trim an antenna for the best SWR.
I haven't owned a CB since the late 70's but it should be no problem. I'll just make sure I pack the right equipment. Glad ya caught me early so I got a day to dig through the archives ;D
Most antennas come pretty close from the factory but the match can vary depending up the vehicle and mounting location. The Avalanche does have a lot of metal so it will provide a good ground plane..

....70's Siltronics 1011C?

I do not know why everyone is in such a roar about the snake eyes system. The only thing you will get to do is drool over it, because it is coming back to Indy with ME. Don't fret though, I will let you touch it but no drooling.

See ya in TN ;D

We will meet with The Mox and metalmeyham before 7:30AM in the morning. Our oldest son and his family are following us down, they have a VIBE ;D I told him I will give him our other FRS radio and he can let us know if we need to wait on anyone at stops etc. We will have our FRS radios on channel 7 for this trip. Looks like we will have 3 Avalanches leaving Greenfield and who know how many by the time we get to PARIS!

We should be at the park no later than 5PM. See you all there!!
