Passenger Door and Adjustable pedals quit working after heater core replacement.

Hello, I hope I am posting in the right place. I replaced the heater core in my 2004 av and while I had the dash out I removed all the vents and ect to clean them. I also replaced the carpet, headliner, and took the door panels off and insulated the doors at the same time.

Now that I have it back together my adjustable pedals and passenger door are not working at all. I am not getting any power to pedal assembly and I cannot hear a relay click. The fuse under the hood is good I even swapped it just to be safe. It has 12v at the fuse. Someone said the relay is the one by the wire block to the left of pedals. Is that correct? If so I am getting no signal from door to that relay even though it has 12v at two of its posts (which doesn't seem right). I also checked the door switch and have 12v going into the door switch and 7v going out. I tried jumping those wires to be sure and nothing happens even with the full 12v.

As for the passenger door. I checked everything and the two orange wires have 12v and I assume the ground from the 4 wire connector is good as it is what I used to check the voltage against the orange wires. I bought a supposedly known good door switch off ebay and it did not make any difference. The door is still completely dead. At this point I assume I just need to order a brand new dorman PDM. I just want to be sure that if it has voltage that it couldn't be anything else as it did work before I removed the door panel and unplugged/re-plugged dash wiring.

The last thing I have done is tried to drop glove box, look under drivers side dash, anywhere I can see for a plug I forgot. The rest of the truck works flawlessly. I am basically just hoping someone who is very familiar with the wiring on these trucks could think of anything I might have forgotten before I invest in a new door switch and help me determine if I have the right relay for the pedals or if it is somewhere else. Thanks.

All advice is appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Keep looking for that unplugged connector... When you pulled the dash apart to repair the heater core you unplugged something. Could be on the right or the left end of the dash board. Left side has fuse pannels, right side has connectors.. LOTS of connectors. You may have to pull them apart and put them back together to ensure they are actually connected together.

Also are connectors behind the radio, behind the glove compartment. All over in the dashboard. It would not be hard to miss one.

Hello again, I pulled most of the dash apart finally, could only find one plug and I think it used to be for the cigarette lighters that the previous owner bypassed for some reason.

I also tried pulling and reseating any fuses that I thought might have to do with the bcm and door modules. After that now only the passenger rear window works. Can't get the driver's side going again. I'm at a loss. I'll check the fuses I pulled to see if one blew up tomorrow in the daylight. I'm getting very discouraged. I bought a ddm on Amazon to try and see if I get lucky and that's it. If not I'll send it back I guess.

Just wanted to see if you had any other ideas I could try. I am also wondering at this point of the bcm could be going out? I just don't want to throw money at this thing. I have no idea how to test the bcm either. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

BCM is not in the mix for the pedals

Thank you! I'll spend some time checking the wiring and see if I can do anything with my HP tuners as that's the only scanner I have.

Thank you! I'll spend some time checking the wiring and see if I can do anything with my HP tuners as that's the only scanner I have.
I also have HP Tuners (VCM scanner) and a 2004 Z71, Don't think HP Tuners will read body codes.

What can tell you is that there is a Android Phone app that will read and clear body codes on your Avalanche. It's called Car Diagnostic Pro. Pair it with the BAFX Bluetooth OBD2 adapter as found on Amazon and you're at about $35.00 for both.

If you want a lot of additional functionality and additional bi-directional control/ability to monitor other things, there are a couple of hand held scanners that work quite well for the other systems (not just powertrain) for around $150. One is the Vident I-link 400 (I have it) and the other is a Foxit scanner of unknown model (I only had one for a little while before returning it, but another person on this forum has one and really likes it - IIRC I thought the Vident did a little more for me).

A couple more attachments dealing with the Class2 communications data for pedals and windows. These are actually is supposed to be done before the other attachments are used. This B1000 communication failure apparently is a possibility for both pedals and windows.

Pretty sure the Vident can display the command states on the windows. IIRC I can use it to roll windows up and down.

I have an OBD2 Bluetooth scanner somewhere. I'll try and dig it out. If I remember it claimed to have the most functionality. I looked a articles in some online car magazine before I bought it. Then never took it out of the box lol. I'll have to dig it out and see if it's compatible with that app. Thanks for all your help. Hopefully I can get to the bottom of this.

I'm close to pulling the dor switches and harnesses out of my 2000 suburban parts truck, running new wires, and buy a security system too bypass the bcm and make it old school .

b2610 passenger compartment dimming 1 circuit
b2615 passenger comparment dimming 2 circuit
u1000 one or more modules not communicating properly over can

Drivers door switch u1000

b1259 solar radiaton sensor circuit open

u1000 radio (removed amp and radio) normal maybe?

This is what I found. Im hoping because it says driver door switch as one of the u1000 codes that means its bad? I know nothing is black and white. I have not tried to manually override anything yet. Will do that next.

Found my answer so I am removing/editing my post. I see that you have to buy a bi directional scan tool with a yearly subscription to to control anything. Thanks for all your help so far.
