So while driving down the road one night I noticed that the driver's side butt warmer button was backlit, but the passenger side wasn't. Well I called the dealer to see if this was right and I was told that yes, they get a ton of phone calls on this but it is as designed - the passenger side buttwarmer button is not backlit. OK, so I know it's not broken but that brings up the question - how hard would it be to have it back lit?

I was out in the Av tonight and looked at the butt warmer backlights. Both the driver and the passenger butt warmer lights were backlit. The memory settings were not , but both passenger and driver warmers were definitely lit. How come the dealer says they are not supposed to be? Go figure.

Ah ha! Tomorrow during my commute I will use OnStar to check with Detroit and then armed with your info and what they have to say call the dealer back.

I knew setting up this site was going to be a good thing!

Figured I should update this. The dealer replaced the switch and the backlighting works fine - they got the part the same day. My Av was in for it's free alignment (slightly out of alignment and they cross rotated the front to even out the wear). This all happened about a week ago but so many posts, it just got lost.

Heh heh heh - great problem to have!
