Well I finally figured out that I didn't run over something causing a gouge in my Z71 rear fender lips. At first I noticed the left rear gouge, and a week later there was a gouge in the right rear. After I noticed a much smaller gouge on my wife's car today, I realized I needed to look closer at things. The gouges were similar with groves. I put the pieces of the puzzle together and it equaled squirrel teeth marks. Darn squirrels. I sprayed the Avy fender wells with ammonia tonight and put down some rodent deterrent in the drive way. My wife's car is back in the garage and I have some repairs to make; much deeper gouges on the Avy. I sure hope they didn't get to any wiring.

Wow.

I've never had a squirrel chew on car body parts, but they have gnawed on the 4x4 wooden fence posts of our privacy fence until the posts are round instead of square.

I wish you the best of luck in the upcoming battle of the beasts.

Never thought squirrels would bite through plastic either. Online says they even have a taste for vehicle wiring apparently too. Hopefully the deterrent and ammonia I keep putting down will keep them away for good.

Be glad you don't have them in your attic they will do the same thing eat the wiring. They are rodents

And, be glad you don't have them in the attic just to migrate into a hidden space in between some walls and then die.

We had a mouse find a nice cozy, warm place to live inside an under slab dryer vent pipe.

All was good until it died.

I still can't believe how much stink that thing gave off.

And the smell came into the house through the clothes dryer.

Stunk up clothes and everything.

Once I finally found the source of the stink, I pulled out the dryer and ran a garden hose down the pipe at full blast and washed everything out.

This has only happened once, but since then I am careful to check the condition of the outside vent flap to at least make sure it is in good shape and is closed.

One of life's little lessons learned.
