I can't see spending $175 to drain and plush the radiator. I got antifeeeze and radiator flush and took a look under the truck and can't find the petcock. I know we are not back in the day but I can't even see the lower radiator hose. However I seen a cover of some kind I may have to take off. Is is a protective cover? Please help. Thank You, Georgia Girl

They have not used petcocks for quite a few years,

I think you should message the admin ygmn and change your ID to Georgia Girl

I think you should stop giving this kind of feedback to members, NewAvGuy.

Please think before you pound the keyboard.

Hey penguin63, did you already get this going? The lower hose should be visible from the top side of the motor. If it's like the 2nd gens, pulling the lower hose off makes a mess on that splash guard you saw from the bottom but just clean it up after and it's fine. There are multiple videos on youtube showing the process, sometimes it helps to look for 'Tahoe' or 'Suburban' instead of Avalanche, they are the same vehicle basically and more were sold. Good luck and no need to spend $175 that is for sure!
