Dave02Z66 trailered Goo's AV in the procession and was able to park next to the grave.

I need folks to send me their favorite pics of Goo, 800x600 or better, for a slide show I am going to put together with the video. There is 30 mins of video, will have details on its availability on VHS and VCD/DVD soon. We are working out details on using proceeds to add to the aid for Pete's family. I will be able to post it to the web, but even in chunks it will be serveral LARGE files. I looked at media tonight - DVD-R are about $3 each, VHS are about $1 each. Including mailers, labels, and postage, looks like I will need to put the price around $10 for VHS and $12 for DVD. I would like to have about $5 of each unit go back to Pete's family. Let me know if those interested in a tape or DVD feel this is fair.

For all of those who sent kind words, they were passed on to Pete's family and they were very greatful for the support of his 4800 strong "other" family.

David

Thanks David
We in other parts of the country have held him in our prayers and have been looking forward to your sharing of his rememberance service. Jim&Linda

Just wanted to let everyone know that I made it home safe.

The service was beautiful, definitely goo ?:) We had 26 AVs show up, he would have been proud!

It was nice to be able to say "See you soon" (never say goodbye) and to meet the family. He has 2 WONDERFUL parents who welcomed the club with open arms and made sure we were recognized (even invited us all over to their house for lunch, but we went to Harper's since it was the ACA's meeting place).

We did a procession with all the AVs and drove past his house.

No one will ever be able to fill his shoes and no one should, he is irreplaceable and his love of the club and the members is priceless.

Me, Dave02Z66, and TexAVfan presented his parents with a binder of the guestbook and print outs of pictures of all the TX cruises with hand written memories from us all and they were very grateful.

His parents will be there with us at the Cameron cruise and we will make sure that they are always welcome!

:)

**Note: I just wanted everyone to know I have gotten the last requests for ribbons and the remaining are going to his parents, as they requested that they be mailed to them.

Here is one of the first shots I took this morning after loading Goos truck up for the funeral.

Thanks for sending these pictures on. I thought of you all, several times today, as I went about my daily routine. This last picture just sent goose bumps...or were they Goo Bumps? :) It's a beautiful shot.
We were with you all in mind and spirit...only wish we could have been with you in person.

Mrs Bubba :B:

Dave, That was really cool of you to tow Goo's AV to the service. He's in our thoughts today, and our memories forever. You're right, the pic proves he's watching.

Dave: The glow in the pic gave me the chills. I guess he gave it his seal of approval.

Click above for the hi-resolution Photo

Even with Goo not present in person he still tries to uphold the cruise records in Texas-24 AV's (26 in procession)

The pictures gave me chills too.
I have been so saddened by his death. However, I am sure Goo is looking down on us smiling, maybe even giggling about seeing his AV towed to his funeral. Goo definately would have appreciated all the support of his fellow members to whom he gave so much. Being so far away it really warms my heart to see how many of you were at his funeral. Anyone who met Goo in person or online knows how friendly and giving he was.

All members should strive to be as dedicated as Goo was to our club and to life.

We miss you Goo, God Speed.

WOW - this is really great - I am so proud of the AV family and the support given from across the country and locally in TX.

Dave - trailer pete's AV was a wonderful idea.

I look forward to seeing footage.

This club amazes me more and more everyday. I didn't know when I joined it would be such a big family and I think we all owe a little to Pete for pulling so many of us together and making us feel like family.

I wish I could have attended but the airlines were not very accomodating... :6:

Wonderful pictures - still can't believe he is gone...

here are a few more pics.

You said it. ?I am honored to be a member of such a fine group. ?I know, the others wouldn't have me ?:p

I'll bet that many out there think that we must just be a bunch of gear heads. ?The initial research, questions & mods might be what brought us here, but I don't really think that's why we stay. ?What a great community ?(y)

One funny comment on this subject, after the services we all gathered around and were talking and listening to Goo's family. Pete's dad was telling us that he had asked Goo if he could go with him on any cruises and GTG's. Pete would joking reply with "No, because you dont own an Avalanche!" His dad made a comment " Well, now I guess I own an Avalanche!" They plan for now to keep the Goo mobile in the family.
We are inviting Petes Dad and Mom as well as any other family members who wish to attend to join us in the Jan 18th Memorial Cruise to Cameron, Texas to show what the cruises and GTG's are all about.
They are a very close nit family very accomidating. We havent lost Pete, they have gained 4800+ sons and daughters in a new extended family. Pete will live in all of us.
After the group photo, all of us met at The Alamo city Chapters 1st and 3rd Friday GTG spot Harper's Burgers and Brew. We lifted a toast to Goo enjoyed the company of new and old friends, had had some good food and conversation.

That picture happened for a reason. I am glad you captured it. Goo will not be forgotten.

PURPLE FOREVER

Thanks, Dave, for posting the pics. You guys in Texas have done a great job memorializing goo. Makes me proud to be native Texan!
Blueruck and MissAV, I echo your sentiments. It's amazing how close this community is. I see posts from numerous members who post quite often and I feel like I know you.
Dave, nice job towing goos AV.....great idea.

Guys....that was just a outstanding showing. I know the family appreciated it.

Goo was looking down over that just grinning that big grin of his. I know he enjoyed the turnout.

Pete had a huge family and his CAFCNA family - the funeral procession was awesome and inspiring - let us hope that this record stands for some time, better to go to weddings than funerals.

His folks were truly amazed at the turn out and support from the club.

I am sitting here with tears running down my face. I am so saddened yet proud to see all those who meant a lot to Pete including his truck be there to say farewell.

GOO929 will live on forever here ..

We made it back last night very thankfull that we were part of ?the ceremony. ?Goo' meant alot to us. ?
Thank you Texas members and CAFCNA for helping out Petes family. ?They are very appreciated of the turn out and every thing we are doing for them.

We realized yesterday for a few minutes that we are lost with out him. On the way to Harpers, the convoy seperated in two. ?
