Whooo !! that is excellent looking.. however...

Let me warn the timid.. this is a lot of work...and you have to drill holes in you bar... because the 520's don't quite fit.

If you want to put on the PIAA Light locks... then you have more work... becasue the clearance inside the bar is a little tight.. and since it's now offset.. you must make room under there too..

All in all .. I took the grinder and cut out a small section beneath .. so that I could install my PIAA Locks.

I also covered all cut edges with cllear siolicone for protection and to prevent wire shearing.

Any questions...I'll be glad to answer...

nAV you should have taken a pic with them on.

and don't forget, you also need a beer drinking buddy to hold the darn things when installing them and give stupid advise and comments. >:D

Holding PIAA lite for 20 minutes = 1 beer

X 2 Sides = 2 beers...

You're welcome bud... and thanks for the third hand ;D

Fourth hand == priceless !! ;D

NAv,

we must have been working on this at the same time yesterday! I hooked mine up last night and after 3 hours :E: they were done. I don't have the same guard as you so that piece was easy.....thank god for the WAAG guard.

I will post some pics tonight.

Tell me....what did you get your switch power from as well as the power for the LED light?

Thanks buddy!

SB

Thanks Cisco, I'll get those pics soon !!.. I promise... Nuttin like waiting for pics... oooohh the pain !!... hehe ;D

Hiya SB,

Constant Power: Tapped into the red wire . (harness joining into the alternator) (it says BATTERY there... lol)

Switched Power:
I tapped into the headlight control module which simply snaps into the dash. Since I was concerned about having the lights left on during the day.. I tapped into the (brown wire with a white line.. this is the switched power wire that controls the headlights).

To remove the headlight control module.. you must put the gear lever in low gear and then remove the snap-on dash contour . After that.. you simply pull on the headlight control module.. and hook your wire there.. or splice into it.

BTW.. The LED is controlled by the switched power... this helps conserve battery juice... The LED is off during the day.. (unless you switch on your headlights manually)

Let me know if that makes sense to you.. if not.. I'll be glad to post pictures. ;)

Very interesting idea! Thanks for the feedback. I basically did something similar to JJ_Snowking which was tie it into the Ignition fuse under the hood. Mine will only work when the ignition is turned on!!!!

Gotta love the looks of these things.

Congrats on your install.

Do your lights come with the LED marker light like the 525's do? I love the subtle glow these things put off at night when the LED is on....looks kind of erie. >:D

Thanks bud, the light LED marker light comes on red when I turn on my headlights manually. If I switch the PIIA's on while the headlights are on.. the LED then turns green (which means the PIAA's are on).

The way I wired it.. my PIAA's will not come on.. unless I have my headlights on. I could very easily change this.. by selecting another wire in the fuse box...(don't know which at thsi time... but would find out if I had to... lol)

As soon as night comes... the PIAA LED light will turn on RED .. (if the key is in the ignition). If I turn on the PIAA's .. then the LED turns GREEN.

lol.. I'm confusin' myself here... hehe

nAv....I posted it before....I love that Westin of yours....now looking at the lights  This will definitely be my 2nd on my wishlist....If your curious....First on my list is the FM70...Then the Westin with the PIAAs

Your AV is very sharp...by far my favorite SOM (y)

Cisco

Hiya Cisco,

Thanks bud for the nice compliment... and SOM honourable mention. (y) . In my naiivety, dare I ask what a FM70 is ? < == Newbie Me !

Great choice for the Westin's and PIIA's .. Please keep in mind.. that Westin can only accomodate a 6" light.. anything bigger and Yikes... quadruple the workload.

I love the 520's... and thought I could sueeze em in.. but nada !! I got the 520's at a bargain from an individual... so thta's why I got em.. (I just had to make em fit... no matter what.. ) ;D

Dying to know what a FM 70 is... ;)

Hey SB,

I posted on your original thread.. awesome look (sorta reminds me of mine... lol). 525's... have dual function and all. Mine don't !

Gotta love em !!

Hy ya Nav...thanks for the compliments.

The FM70 that Cisco is referring to is a Flowmaster exhaust. The generally come in the 40, 50 and 70 series. &0 is the quietest of the bunch.

Hope that helps.

SB

Thanks SB for giving nAV the heads up (y) Yeah, I want the exhaust then the Westin...to make my AV sound tough, and look tough (y)
