Anyone with a pewter Av pinstripe it? Do you like it?

I am thinking of running some black pintriping down my Av and I can't decide if it will look good or not. I removed the Z71 rear panel stickers because that was ugly but it looks bare. Anyone have pics?

I searched 180 days and found nothing on this. So please, no search comments :p

I have an appointment tomorrow morning to get my sgm NFE pinstripped. Still haven't decided for sure what I'm going to have done!

I have my pewter AV striped, did it my self look great but no pic's sorry.

Did it a few times in dif colours, and decided on 2 colours to match the Z71 sticker. So my stripes are 1 red 1/6" and the other is black 1/8"

G.

Thanks for the link. Saturday must be pinstripe your Av day. I too made an appt. for pinstriping. I figured it was only $25 for the whole truck, so if I end up not liking it, I'll just remove it.

I put those Tahoe Z71's on the C pillars and tailgate and I was thinking of running the black pinstriping down the sides and putting those Avalanche mountain stickers in place of the old Z71 stickers.

Mine's getting done by brush. I won't be leaving until I like it. ;)

I did it this morning. It looks great. Better than I thought. I got a glossy black with silver speckles double pinstripe. It looks fantastic on the pewter. Don't have pictures yet but I will post once I do.

I think I'll go with the dark metallic charcoal avalanche / mountains stickers and see how that looks together.

CO Z71, I haven't seen an Av with penstriping yet, but I do need to have some paint work done thanks to a recent mod involving eggs done by some locals. :6:

If those who are getting the work done this weekend can post pictures, that would be great! :)

I bought a couple rolls of pin stripes - a burgandolphxx thin and a wider red. Not sure what to do with em or where yet. ??? :cautious: :p The purple is cool but I already have stripeman lettering in red fade. ;)

IT'S PINSTRIPED!!!!!

Dave02Z66 came over and pinstriped my AV, it's so beautiful, I'm getting teary-eyed thinking about how beautiful it is

Checkered flag striping with silver metallic edging, it's AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU DAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your welcome Kim
Hope the pics come out, or will have to show up during day with my digital camera

I got my pinstripes painted on this morning. I ended up going with two fine lines, one silver and one gold. Looks really good. I can't wash it for a few days and can't wax for a month. When it's clean I'll get some pix up.

Next door to the striper, was a guy that does window tinting. Hmmm... Ah hell, as long as I'm there...right? I got the fronts windows tinted the same as the factory tint on the back. The glass looks much better now.

I have had mine striped for quite a while. It is grey with a dark blue that flows into purple. The pic doesn't do it justice. The tail gate letters are painted grey to match the cladding. That really looks nice from the rear......

Need help on morals question.
I have the plain jane version of the 2 wheel drive AV.
I saw the picture that was advertised for the billet gas cap on the Z66 version. Actually it looked like Goo's AV and probably is. The cap looks great on the black AV with the different tones of silver and gray of the Z66 decal, it kind of blends in.
On the Plain jane model where there is no decal at the rear it does not look that great. Kind of sticks out to be truthful. I was talking to my service manager and showed him the picture on the website how it looks with the decal and he agreed it looked alot better than without. I got a call from him and he told me to swing by that he had something for me. He ordered the Z66 decals and gave them to me at no charge.
Now it is morally wrong to put the Z66 decals on the truck with it being an ole plain jane model??????????????
That is the question.
On the other hand i am looking at ordering a roll of the barb wire pinstripes in silver from stripeman. 150 foot roll for about 50 bucks. It is not solid silver, it is actually dotted silver on a clear background.. That is what i am debating over right now...
Any help on issue above would be appreciated. Service manager says who knows,,,,,,,,, I know the difference.................
zeeya ???

Thanks Irontrain.. I know what you are talking about on the selling issue. i have come across some vehicles on the lots that had the Z71 sticker on them and upon examination of the underbody it had the basic shocks and no skid plates. You think everybody would catch that, but you would be surprised at the ones that don't.
That would definetly not be an issue in this case as i would not be embarrased to tell them the difference and the reason i put them there. At least it would show from the start that i was not trying to put the screws to them............
thanks again

Zeeya-
You may know that its not a Z66 and convey that to the next owner, but what about them? Will they be just as honest? Why not have some other decals made at the local sign shop? Like AV 1500 or something similar? There is a member of the Alamo City group that has this decal AV1500 they had made. These are not that expensive. His look pretty good too. The web site decal I had made for my back window was less that $8.

If there are dealers out there that are representing base or Z66 models as Z71's they should be reported to the BBB and GM for defrauding unsuspecting consumers.

Thanks Dave, i have been in contact with Stripeman on at least 3 different occasions to see if could make a decal in the same colors as the Z66 decal and use the same font as the letters on our cladding and make a decal that just said "AVALANCHE".
He requested that i send him the Avalanche in the proper font. I guess i could copy something off of here and email him with it. I had put a post on here to see if anybody would be interested in one if made up and did not get any responses. I do not know if he would just make up one, but i thought it would look good if it was made in the same lettering as the Z decal. It would just be a little longer.
Thanks again.........See your point the only way i could insure that nobody would get burnt would be to take it off before i sold it.......

>:DI have now. Went to site and saw what was available. Emailed them with a question to see if they had anything in the same color as the factory Z decal.
All they show is dark gray metalic and silver metalic. will wait for their response to see what they say.
Pretty cool decals though, thanks for the link. I just installed MSN 8 and it will not let any links come through on email. You cannot click on the club link in an email to take you to that post. Have been trying to reset it, with no luck....................bummmmmmmmmmmmmer

Steelhead, that is funny. The shop that pinstriped mine also does window tinting. They were doing a Tahoe when I showed up and It lookes so good, I made an appt. for next Sat. to do my driver and passenger windows. >:D

While I was waiting, I noticed the wall was full of Denver Bronco pictures, all signed. This place does a lot of work for the ball players. So while I'm standing there, the owner says "here comes my Bronco tickets". then in walks Dwayne Causwell (Denver tightend) to had him some tickets for working on his H2 Hummer. I looked out the window and that thing was tricked out anyway you can work it. I later found out he has $60,000 worth of audio / video equipment in that thing. It was sweet looking.

Zeeya,

"Now it is morally wrong to put the Z66 decals on the truck with it being an ole plain jane model?? "

It is no worse than my mod to make my "Burban" look like an AV.

Aloha,
Murman ;D

CO Z71,

click on my sig file. I had my pewter striped to match the fade on the Z-71 decal. I went with red & black. Also had Stripeman match the gate decals in the Z-71 fade. Hope the pics help. :B:

Well after spending yesterday getting wonder91178's checkered pinstriping done, I finally got to mine today.
Found some chrome pinstripe to match my chrome accents and Avalanche lettering. I cut out a little bowtie for over the door.
Pic is above (y)
