Pismo Beach/Lake Lopez/Oceano Dunes/Hearst Castle
July 25th - 28th, 2003
Come to the Central Coast of California for a Weekend of Fun in the Sun!
If you can not stay the entire time, just come for as long as you can!
Robert (AVKING) has put together the details for this cruise/meet with
lots of activities that should suit just about everyone's idea of fun & budget.
AVKING- "The camp sites located at the beach were all booked, and no one seemed interested in camping on the beach, too much sand... I made reservations at the Lopez Lake Campgrounds. The campground is less than 15 minutes from the Ocean and put us in a great location for all activities."
We have a group campsite reserved. The group site is called Del Norte and it's right across from the lake and next to the water slides. The Del Norte site can accomodate up to 24 vehicles, so we don't have any capacity issues. We have plenty of room for everyone! It has private water and flush toilets, as well as electrical connections. The electric is not for trailer hookups, but can be used for radios and small electronics. It is a short drive or moderate walk to hot showers. The site also has an extra large BBQ pit for the group BBQ Event. The group site costs $156/night and includes 12 vehicles. Each additional vehicle is $12/night. The individual cost for camping will be $15/night per vehicle. ?I will collect the camping fees from everyone on-site.
"Please RSVP either here or via email mcne1997@aol.com ASAP.
Dogs are welcome.
There are plenty of hotels in the area if you are not interested in camping."
"Weather at the Lake is great this time of year. Warm days and cool evenings are the norm. You can expect high temp to reach the low to mid 90’s, low temps in the high 60’s and Lake water temp in the 70’s. If you have a boat of jet skis, you can bring them to this lake. Rentals are available and details are listed below."
Loose Itinerary:
Saturday 10:00am to 3:00pm Meet at the Pismo Dunes for ATV Rentals, Dune Buggy Rentals, Horseback Riding, Dune Running in the AVs or just fun on the beach. I have listed a couple ATV rental companies below, if you want to make reservations. Horseback riding is first come first served. You will have to pay a $5 fee to drive onto the beach and dunes.

Saturday 7:30pm Group BBQ at the campgrounds. Burgers, Dogs, Sodas, Beer and Condiments will be provided. We will have a sign-up for the extras.
Sunday 9:00am Hearst Castle Tour and Picnic in San Simeon -OR- 4x4 up to Big Falls and Little Falls. Hearst Castle and San Simeon are about 1 hour up Hwy 1 and you need reservations. The 4x4 trails are right around the corner.
