Good point there man. Worst thing about powdercoating is that if you do chip it, its all gotta be taken off and repainted. No spot repair

Not true. I have a bottle of MEK and some powder. MEK = Methyl ethyl ketone

Just did the lettering on my truck, and I'd post the pics but I'm still new .  Lots of awesome stuff in this thread though!  Y'all are gonna fill my head up with too many crazy ideas!

That looks great! I've been debating what to do with my rims and I might try this! How much did it cost?

I had a powder coating connection, lol. 125 to do all 4 rims. Most places charge 80 to 100 each. For 20 bucks you can get 4 cans of dip and do it. Looks just as good, but wont last as long.

After six months of clouds and snow, finally got a sunny dry day in Pittsburgh, it's not clean, but here's pics as promised, since people keep asking.

On a side note, those of you getting into Plasti-dipping stuff, especially wheels, be wary of petroleum and silicone based products ( Back to Black, Tire wet, Black Magic etc.), once you get them on surfaces that you have sprayed w/ dip, they are a mother to get clean again, it takes more patience than elbow grease, since you can scrub terribly hard, but either way, avoid getting these products on your dipped surfaces if at all possible

How are you door handles holding up? Ik you were havingsome peeling issues.
I have one small peel, about the size of a nickel on the drivers front. the passenger front still feels the same as it did a few months ago, it feels like it is rubbing off gradually, as opposed to starting to peel as i thought it would, maybe the peel on my handle started cause I scratched the coating with something, or didn't have it completely clean when I sprayed, not exactly sure.  I suspected that this condition would present itself since it was impossible to get the gun at a good angle to get solid even coats on the back side of the handles.  It's holding up better than I originally thought, I thought that I would have had to peel all 4 handles because of peeling/wear issues by now, but other than the small peel on the drivers front, they all still look fine.

have you seen the repair stuff for it? They have on their website a repair solution so you dont have to peel the old coats off.  (y)
