Plastic Manifold Cover On 5.3...

Can I replace the Vortec plastic manifold cover with an aftermarket one-spun aluminum or something? Different color..

Have not seen any posts for aftermarket TB cover. Do a search on "painted covers". Spork has probably done the coolest job so far.

You can paint it yourself whatever color you want. I will paint mine, haven't picked a color yet. Maybe red Like my Stripeman letters.

the plastic manifold doesn't serve any function, other than to dress-up the engine compartment. you could take it off, replace it with another piece of plastic, or some sort of machined metal. The only possible problem I can see with putting a metal engine cover in there, is that it will retain a lot of heat. And we all know that extra heat in the engine compartment hurts the performance of the engine.
