Please Educate Me

I have finally talked the wife into the idea of a DVD system in the 02 Ave. Now i have looked around here but i can not find out what i will need.
My plan is for the Headrest monitors from JP Customs and to replace the HU with a DVD player that also has a screen.
Most of the HU's i have seen also require a seperate DVD player except for the high $$ ones. Hopefully someone here can break it down for me in plain english.

Go with the Vizualogic 7" direct replacement headrests; we sell a ton of those and eveyone loves them!! For the head unit, you could do a Pioneer cd-6400 and just add an inexpensive dvd in the pocket down below. Otherwise, look at the Kenwood 911 dvd as they just had a pretty significant price reduction.

Thanks for the info. I just talked to the wife and she said that she does not want to see a screen in the front of the Ave? Not too sure why but i will not argue with it. I am going to get the Vizualogic 7" direct replacement headrests. I would also like to replace the head unit with one that will play DVD's and recieve tv stations, but do they make one without a screen?

For what you want with the HU, I think one of the best choices is the Clarion VRX815. The only thing is, it has a screen. But it has a TV tuner, DVD player, MP3 player. Its got everything. Try to argue for a screen, otherwise you'll be buying a lot of extra seperate components that will take up space and your time to install them.

You could go with either the Alpine DVA-7996 or Pioneer PIDVHP7000 (check availability!). Both are in-dah dvd system controllers and both companies make an add-on tv tuner. However, the prices on these units and the tuners are nearly what the Kenwood 911 dvd or the Clarion that the dude mentioned are. You can always keep the screen folded in w/ the Missus in the vehicle!! When you order the Vizualogic, make sure to order the vehicle specific kit so you will get everything that you need (fm headphones, modulator just in case).
