YGMN, you're the best...thanks!! If I may ask you one more question (if you know the answer): will THESE tires fit on example these rims ? Just to give me an idea if I am in the right direction here!! THanks!! (y)

Yakky, The Newf!
The tire will fit the wheel...

I am not saying nor do I know if it will fit the AVY w/o any problems.......

YAKKY....Go to a tire and wheel shop and talk to the guy....they are extremely helpful on what will fit....

YGMN, the problem is that we only have 2 wheel/tire shops here... GOODYEAR -> not very helpful when it comes to RIMS and WHEELS that are not Goodyear; CTR/bridgestone -> NOT very helpful at all, on anything, very crappy customer service.... I get more knowledge here on most things than from local shops!! That is why I love this place!! (y)
SIMPLE solution....MOVE hehehehehe

Yak. you crazzzzzzy B*****d :D

From discount tire's web site:

Reading Wheel Sizes:

Example Size: 15x7 4-100 40S

15 - Rim diameter in inches.

7 - Width of rim in inches.

4-100 - Bolt Pattern.

4 - Number of lug holes in wheel.
100 - Distance between lug holes (in millimeters).

Some wheels have multiple bolt patterns.

15x7 4-100/108

This wheel fits cars with both 4-100 bolt patterns and 4-108 bolt patterns.

40S - Offset and finish

40 - Measures in millimeters how far back or forward the mounting surface (face) is from the center of the wheel.

S - Silver Finish.

So, which of these two wheels is a better fit for the AV 1500??

ROCKET SS
CHROME
20 X 8.5
6X139.7
78 HUB
10 Offset
$430.00

ROCKET SS
CHROME
20 X 8.5
6X139.7
108 Hub
13 Offset
$430.00

The only difference between these two wheels is the hub number and the offset number and I have not a clue as to which of the two wheels is better for the av ??? ???

Hey Yakman
To the best of my knowledge those will fit up. That tire profile is the bang on one for stock and what I will shoot for on replacement. Right now I have 295/45/20 and I am under in total diameter.
Now, I don't what to cause you further frustration but have you checked e-bay for rims. I think you can do a better price there.
I just bought a second set of 20's (don't ask) for less. I can't tell for sure. How much did/do they want for shipping?. My Epic Bilx (wheels I'm running now) are on there for a pretty good price.

Guy's
Offset is the distance between the inside/face of the rim [at the point where the wheel bolts onto the hub] and the centerline of the wheel, [centerline is if you divide the wheel width in half]

The greater the offset the more the wheel will fit twards the center of the truck
the smaller # offset, means the wheel will stick out side of the fender well
on a 8.5" wheel 15 mm. will keep it near factory look

Back spacing is the distance from the hub face to the inside outer lip of the rim

The center boar, is the size of the pilot hole in the center of the wheel
From memory???, I think the factory was around 78mm
the larger the centorboar, the bigger hub centri ring you will need and probably the less stronger wheel

The bolt pattern is the 5.5" or 6.139mm circle
and for the most part?? nterchangeble
Hope this helps
