Po' Boy HighLift And Winch Receiver Front Bumper

I would like to find a way to put a wicnh reciever on the front of my AV, while I have a WAAG with two lights on it already. I can understand venado's design of his own reciever, but I didn't like the way it removed the tow hooks. If someone has a design or knows whereI could get something that would be great.
Thanks

Actually, I intend to use it for a totally different reason. I may mount just one of the receivers on the front frame. The rear of the AV makes it tough to see an empty trailer when you are backing it into a parking slot. I have taken the bed covers off and flipped down the tailgate to see the unloaded trailer and guide it in. With a hitch on the front (even offset to one side) I could stop and re-attach the trailer and drive the trailer into the slot. Thanks - Seth

Why not just put in hitch mounted tow hooks if/when you need them?

You really can't mount a brush guard if you have that setup unless you fabricate one yourself so that it mounts in the receiver style setup. I am not a master in metalurgy, and I don't do a lot of mechanical work; but I think that Conway is onto something with the WARN mount behind the license plate. ;D

What if WARN could find a way to mount the hitch behind the AV's bumper and drill a hole where the front license plate is? ?That way when you need to use the winch for the front....remove your license plate and hook it up and when your done put your licensce plate back on and you wont see the hole. ?I've sent them an email about this and hopefully they wont blow me off.
Conway, have you heard back from them yet?

venado, thanks for the original post and the pics.

Yeah...and I'm not to happy with the answer I got....here was there answer:

"NO...IT WILL NOT WORK"

I have not given up yet.....the guy who balanched my tires builds his own 4x4 jeeps and he said he can fabricate some kind of bar to fit behind the AV's bumper....this is getting frustrating!

Conway ,
Good to see you at the GTG man.

So did you have any more info on this?

This can be custom done. Check out the Eaton Elocker site (http://www.rockcrawler.com/techreports/eaton_elocker_preview/page2.asp). They have an Avalanche with a warn multi-mount winch. I've seen a picture of the receiver hitch coming out of the front bumper, but can't find the link. Try contacting the folks at Pickuptruck.com (http://www.pickuptruck.com/html/autoshows/sema2001/project/avalanchess.html).

Good luck!

I had planned to go with Venadoos front mount idea, untill some dingbat smashed my front bumper/cladding. So I had Stealth Offroad put a receiver on my steel bumper. Solves the winch mount dilemna real nice.

Now all I need is some $$ for a winch........
