Members are discussing problems with the switches and/or wiring and/or motors in their power windows. Here is a link to that thread http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php?board=15;action=display;threadid=23192;start=msg363562#msg363562

Please indicate if you have experienced problems with electrical components of your power windows. Thank-you.

I had to lump the 03/04 together as (to the best of my knowledge) these "polls" are limited to a max of 8 entries.

Edit: Darn fingers :E: The last entry in the poll should read 03/04 WBH :-[

The only problem that I have experienced does not have to do with the electronics or motors of the power windows - it is that they have frozen shut on me several times and the motors can't open them until it gets sufficiently warm inside. I'm in New England. If it rains then gets cold enough to freeze, the windows will not open.

Stoney, I've heard that windows can freeze up overnight, fortunately I haven't experienced that problem. I know there was some discussion in a recent thread, just cannot recall the title of the post. I have a de-icer spray which I bought at Home Depot, and haven't needed to use it (y)

I just use a ice scrapper to break the ice at the rubber strip on the bottom of the window and sides. That usually frees it up.

But I noticed my windows are really slow when it is cold out. You can barely get the window to close if I open it at all. Its just so stiff. The motor just doesnt seem to have enough power to handle the extreme cold.

 WOW  We're seeing 1 in 3 2002 AVs with Power Window (electrical) problems :6:

It's be good to see additional poll numbers (y)

All four of mine were stiff when brand new. When it's cold they are slower. The rear windows seem slower than the front. None have failed yet. I have noticed though that they are beginning to loosen up a bit after about a year of use. Especially the drivers window.

Ive had my windows freeze up on me several times this winter.
I also had to have all of the controls on the driver's side window replaced after I had a window smashed by vandals. :8:

I never knew so many people had problems with their power windows. I've never experienced any problems. Lot's of luck for those of you who have problems.

Just in case anyone is wondering why I split the POLL to isolate Cladded vs WBH, it seemed that for some reason cladded had (have) more problems with the power windows than WBH

Maybe it has something to do with the body piercing (I know, a lame Janet Jackson reference :E: ) holding up the cladding
