Pontiac Vibe

My wife has decided she doesn't want to keep our 2004 Quest 3.5 SL. It's simply too big, we don't need a 7 passenger vehicle, so we are looking for a replacement.

New requirements:
Small, but room for 2 adults and 2 kids
Efficient, 25mpg or so

Since I get GMS pricing, I'm looking at GM cars. I've always like the Pontiac Vibe, specifically the GT. My wife has never owned a manual tranny car, so that's probably out of the question.

Do any of you own a Vibe? What do you think of it? Any other GM car out there that we should consider? I'd like the MSRP to be around $20k...a little more/less is OK.

I like the Equinox, but it's rated at 19/25mpg. Not quite what we are looking for (gotta offset the Av!). Plus there is no rebate on them right now.

$3500 rebate on Grand Am and Alero, but wifey doesn't like those. I do want her to be happy.

my choice..........looks wise...get the equinox.......looks a lot sharper than the vibe..........also has a all wheel drive option.....a plus for snow or heavy rain..

I just found a "Fusion Orange" 5 spd.... too bad it isn't Auto. I like the Orange.

Kimmeys Vibe is SUNBURST ORANGE II , and its nice!! The Fusion Orange Metallic is not as orange as orange, and more orange than my orange.....

The VIBE has phenomenal fuel economy..... I don't know the MPG or whatever you guys ask for, but I'll explain the best I can!!
At TODAYS GAS PRICES HERE being 96.1 Cents/Litre Canadian.
it takes $35 approx to fill tank
and gets about 400 km of in-town driving..

We are test driving a Vibe tomorrow. Maybe we'll do a 24 hour test drive. BTW, the automatic gets 28mpg city, 33 mpg highway. That's 2 times the mileage of my Av.

Aztek, no way. Not for us.

Liz doesn't like the orange, either. We found an all black Vibe at a dealer close by, so we'll set up a 24 hr test drive tomorrow. All black may not be the right color for us, as I hate cleaning black cars, but they have 22 Vibes to choose from.
