All,
I am considering the Purchase of one of these Monster is there any reason no matter small/large Why I shouldnt ???

That's sortof a hard question to answer.
I think that 99% of the members of this website are VERY satisfied with their purchase. There have been some issues with both model years, but they don't seem to be across the board problems, mostly unique to a few vehicles.
You just have to be prepared for the amount of gas you're going to be buying and the number of heads you'll be turning.
You must also realize that hanging around here will cost you a lot of money by making modifications to make your AV...YOUR AV.

Go for it! ;)

The only problem is you will not want to drive a car again. Good Luck ;D

What are you waiting for . You could hae started doing some mods already. You are getting behind while you wait.........

Leaning towards the Dark Green-i am awaithng a call back from dealership --could have as soon as Weds. ;D

I just got mine about a month ago and LOVE it.
However, no joke about the gas thing
Mod's are the things you do to make the truck your own and unfortunately they are usually $$$$ spensive (Think of an AV as a canvas, it's not done till you add to it and put some of you into it ;)
But there is NOTHING like it on the road (and I have driven them all)
Note the Sig.'s at the bottom of most peoples posts to see what they have added....

I hope you decide to go for it, always good to get new people on board ;)
Best of luck,
RGUARD

I think the Avalanche does very well with gas for the size that it is! I average 16.5 to 17.5MPG and get around 20MPG on interstate driving.

I have had my 2002 Z-71 since November. I LOVE this vehicle! I have been driving 20 years, and have had 15 cars (a bit of a car fan), but will definately keep this baby until she doesn't run anymore, and if they are still around will get another. My wife (who was dead set against this "Monster") even mentioned getting a Z-66 for herself. The AV is without a doubt the best vehicle I have EVER owned.
This site is a great resource as well, but don't let the "problem" areas of the site scare you. I didn't find the site until right after I bought mine, and in reading them I was terrified. I have had no problems with my AV, and even if I should in the future, I know there are 7,000 other owners here who will help in giving advice on what to do to fix the problem. This site is one of the best benefits of being an Avalanche owner.
Good luck

If you don't purchase an Avalanche you will be haunted with the constent nagging of that little guy inside saying "I should have bought one... Why did I get this this thing, when I could have had an AV..." And that's no way to start out with a new vehicle...
Save yourself the pain... You wife and Dog will even thank you after the first week.

Buy the av. :B: We had a Chevy P/U with an extended cab and it was a great truck, but we needed more room in the back seat. I and my wife don't care for the exterior body hardware, we bought it for the interior room and styling and do not regret buying our '03 av. Only if my wife would let me take it off road then I would be truly happy. :)

After I got mine, now my wife doesn't like to drive her Dodge mini-van anymore. Before I got the AV, she loved her mini-van. I often go on 5-day business trips, and she makes me take my old car to the airport so that she can drive the AV when I can't.

This scenario sounds VERY familiar.
