Post Pics Of Your Avalanche!

wind4power,

excellent scheme... that doesnt look like the indigo blue, is it? also noticed you went for the smooth plastic look; very nice.

where are you located, and could you share some info. on the truck?

Here is a link for pics...

I am in LUST after that blue Av!!!

Wind4power,

Can you please post the specs for your wheels and tires, I want to upgrade to 18's so any tips and tricks can help...thanks :)

NJAV,
I've got Falken Ziex S/TZ01 P285/60R18 tires mounted on 18" Helo Slide wheels

The paint on my AV is solid indigo blue. Alot of the So. Cal. dealerships are sending AVs out to have the cladding painted. While on the hunt for my Av, I saw alot of variations on the cladding paint....from a smooth high gloss finish like mine to a matte finish in matching or contrasting colors. I saw some with dealer installed lifts too. Wow! But...I opted for the more street look.

Where do you find Falken Tires? ;) Answer: mounted on your falken wheels!

Wind4Power - that is beautiful

Whose grille - I like it.

BTW, how come you left the sail and panels grey - curious.

Wind4power,

It's funny right after I seen your tires I identified them as Falken's right away, they are very popular here in Jersey for most Trucks and Suv's....

I decided to play it safe because of the clearance issues we have been discussing so I headed right over to tires.com and Falkens website to research these tires a little further.....

Nearly jumped out of my seat when I realized they made a 265/60/18 tire....not an easy size tire to find with the thread pattern that I liked etc.....

Very nice choice.....And you didn't have any issues as far as lifting or cutting.....Great!! ;D

Nice looking pics! I almost went with the Blue (such a pretty blue) but ultimately went with the Black for my Z66. I am trying to decide which mudflaps I should get, the molded or the straight kind. Do you have any good or bad experiences with your molded flaps? I think I read somewhere that they can cause a problem if you get off road at all and have any problems with ground clearance. Just curious...

OK - here is the Chief's Avalanche. These pictures were taken at a park that is about 300 feet walking distance from my house. God how I love the Pacific Northwest!

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Chief

Thats one sharp Av. A set of molded splash guards would make it perfect.

Keep up the good work on the site its A-OK. ;)

Looks Clean Chief. Good JOB!!!

Thanks for the kudos guys. Yes, it did wash it up and treat the tires prior to the photo opp but I only spent about an hour getting it ready.

Couple of things helped - a good coat of real carnuba wax I hand rubbed in a couple of weeks ago and really good back lighting. I used fill flash when I took the pictures and the very tall cedars and hemlocks cast long shadows, hence between the fill flash and the shadows the truck has a very, very wet look to the pictures.

The photos actually came out a little dark, so I increased the exposure before I published them, which created some over exposures. Also on picture number one there is some really bad flare from the fill flash on the rear quarters.

Trust me, my Avalanche is as clean as I can reasonably get it in the Pacific Northwest in February! Again - thanks for the kudos...

NJAV: Backspacing on the Atlas wheels is 4.5". Not sure what stock was, but the wheel track of the truck was widened by about 3" when I put the wheels on. The tires are now flush to just slightly outboard of the fenders.

chevynut, sweet avalanche. how do you like the polaris scrambler? is it the 500 4x4? i want one so bad. for now im stuck riding my dads dirt bike but i have wanted a scrambler for so long. have you had any problems with it? hows the suspension? and is it fast? thanks. Alex

Loclass....very nice, It adds a ruggedness to the Av...

That's the look I'm aiming for...I want a rugged looking truck....scale mountains in a single mash of the air peddle!!!!! sorry...I'm calm now.. ;D

Alex, yes it is a Polaris Scrambler 500 4x4. We have had Zero problems with both of our machines. The suspension is smooth and it is a blast to ride. And yes, it is very fast. My wife races it stock and has won first place even in the mem's division. Trade the dirt bike and buy one, you will love it!
