not sure if this is the right place to post this or not, so if it's not, sorry about this. I just got my powdercoating booth set up and looking for things to coat. i'm in yarmouth, nova scotia and i'll make sure to give good pricing to the guys on here. I am currently limited to a max of a 16" rim so mainly shorty headers, intakes, differential covers, etc.

What's the process of powdercoating actually involve?  I got my bumper done a year ago and I've got rust stains showing already, I don't know if it wasn't done right or if the winter sand/salt is to blame, or myself for not cleaning it everytime I went out and got a splash of water on it.

sounds like it was poor prep on there behalf...usually i clean it, sandblast it (the rough surface from the blaster will help with adhesion, same as with doing bodywork), if it's going to be a part going in salt water or seeing winter use where there's alot of salt i will also use a zinc phospate to help prevent rust, then i heat it to dry out any oils or moisture in the metal, give it a quick wipe with a prep cleaner, once it dries, then spray and bake. sounds like alot but really it's not to bad.  but if you don't prep properly it can flake off, rust, or do all kinds of strange things that will be a pain in the  :welcome:  lol
