Here you go, I wanted to see what kind of gains could be had from a new Av.  I wasn't too interested in getting every last hp, we're doing heads/cam/turbo on it, so we needed to get started on the build right away.

After a quick mail order tune here are the results:

33HP and 31TQ gain from just a quick tune, these trucks have a lot of power left in them.

I'll keep you guys updated on the results of the h/c/turbo install.

That was 89/91oct; we didn't get any miles on it because we're installing parts, but typically customers see 1-3mpg increase.

thanks,
allen

Sweet! I'm picking up my new Avy tomorrow. Once I get the lift kit on and the tire size determined, I'll be in touch!

BTW - I was curious - If I understand correctly, Nelson provides tunes by way of ECU swap, right? If the truck was to go back to the dealer after the swap, and they flashed the ECU for whatever reason (say, as part of a TSB), what happens to the custom tune?

The tune will be lost, however, that's no biggy since we offer free updates, all I have to do is load your tune again, worst case, you'll have to drive with your stock tune until we get you another one,

looking forward to it,
allen

Looks like you're headed in the right direction Allen. But, since it hasn't been said yet, and I'm curious  :nopics:

:kidding: One question though, is this the 5.3L or 6.0L ?

I don't think they'll be too many passes on this one, it probably won't be a drag racer, but it'll be terrorizing the streets

It's a 5.3L.

I'll get some pics up tomorrow.  Basically, the stall is in, trans has some parts hanging from it, and the top of the engine is gone, lol.

Hi Allen, any word on the core PCM's for the 07 yet? Thats the only thing stopping me from getting mine done, that and a couple hundred bucks since I just went on vacation :D I just can't have my truck down for a couple of days :needhug:

aw, a few missing parts from the top is not always a bad thing... sometimes you have to take a couple steps back to move forward...

Lol... I have a spare set if you need me to send them to ya..... come t think of it, spare cam, chain, oil pump, cover....

Even came out of a summit white Av like that one......

Nice tubing sweeping around both sides of the radiator... I assume that's not for air filters..... >:D

I'll let you know, LOL.

It's a new trick intake tube, cold air kit, it produces about 8psi >:D

The bottom of this truck is very tight to fit an intercooler, we have to put it behind the grille, also no holes in the bumper/cover to cool it down either, oh well.

Hey wes, you'll like this intercooler setup better than what we discussed, it'll be higher up and free from any road debris or off roading.

we'll keep you updated,
allen

In light of the fact that I don't have the slightest clue as to what you are doing, all I
can say is Damn, I hope it works!

I was trying to think up some smartass comment, but then I got to thinking that since you have literally got my truck's "life" in your hands, maybe that wouldn't be too smart
on my part!

So, I'll just stick with Looks Great, Carry On!

Your comment about the intercooler sounds good.

All kidding aside, I hope you and your wife have a nice 4th.

Dude, I really wish you had not posted that..... these threads will now be filled with people claiming their CAI kits are building boost... and it must be true because Allen Nelson said so..... >:D

Too funny....
