Power Running Boards

My power running boards keep sticking in the down position. Anyone else experience this and what did you to fix it?
Mine do it all the time. They'll try and go up then make some weird servo noises and stay down. The cause(I'm 99% confident) is small pebbles, sand, road dirt in the hinges making the sensor think it's a 9yr olds leg or something you don't want crushed. Solution: blow them out thoroughly with air compressor, spray out with h20 hose, or physically lift with the motor after closing the door; and use graphite powder, garage door spray lubricant, or silicone lubricant on the hinges(once clean) to lessen the chance of the debris sticking to them. Also, I deactivate mine most of the warm months and let them get stuck in the down position through the winter. When I have to physically help them raise (which has worked every time) I'll either belly flop onto the window sill and stretch or use a stick golf club tire tool or whatever to reach in through the open window and press the button to deactivate. Hope this helps

Hey guys, I have the same steps on mine. They aren't working. I removed the motor on the driver's side and was unable to get the gearbox off. I tested the motor and it works fine in both directions. I also tried it with the motor connected to power but not to the gearbox, the motor never turned on when I opened or shut the door. Any ideas?

BioMass I would contact AMP Research in the link I posted above since they made the GM boards, they should be able to diagnose your issue for you.....
