I have a 2004 loaded Z71 Avalanche.  Yesterday i ran the seats all the way forward to lay the rear seats down.  Later i tried to run the driver's seat back.  None of the controls would work on the side of the seat.  I tried both programs 1 & 2 on the door and that did not work either.  The passenger seat worked fine.  Later i took a key remote out and it unlocked the door and adjusted the seat according to the program.  After that the seat controls worked fine.

Any one have any ideas what happened?  I am afraid this will happen again and strand me some where.  I cannot physically get in the truck with the seats that far up.

TIA

Sorry I can't help with the electrical issue, maybe one of the site electrical gurus will respond shortly.
One thing to help prevent this from happening in the future is to do the "rear seat headrest mod" where you remove the rear headrests and use a Dremel tool to modify the last notch in the headrest bars so they have the same shape as the other notches and you can then remove the headrests without using a paperclip to release the headrest from the seat mounts. That way you won't have to put the front seats so far forward to get the rear folded down.
There should be some old threads with the steps and maybe even pictures on how to do that mod.

The door has a circuit breaker that you probably tripped

Not hard just takes sometime. Pull the switches check the connections
and no water leaks or corrosion. Same with the wiring under the seat.
A heads up when under the seats any I mean any wire unplugged
will through the AIR BAG LIGHT.  :E:
