Also, if you have a UPD and I would imagine some of the other intakes, the tube gets pushed up against the fan shroud. Will have to do a little tweaking to get it all lined up.
I watched a friend install my TBS. It actually appeared quite easy for him to both install the bolts and install the air intake. (I have an Airaid though and was told that it is easier to install the air intake with it than with a K&N. Or wait.. is that FIPK or UPD? I get all these acronyms confused.
Regardless, things are a very tight fit, but seemed easy enough to install. Just do it the way the manual states: angle the air intake and slip on the bottom, then lift the rest over. Viola.
I still have to wash the engine compartment. Not only is there the slight smell of engine coolant, but now I am _dreaming_ that friends are warning me about the smell of coolant. Ugh. This truck haunts me in my sleep.
gpventures, good luck with your TBS install. It should be a breeze.
Just try to ease the throttle body back.. you might not have to remove the coolant lines like we did. And if you do, just have one of the large bolts from the TBS kit ready to quickly push into the coolant line. (You only need one; one line goes in, the other continues on. The one that continues on will leak a little bit from what is already in it, but that is it.) You may want to pop the cap on the your coolant overflow container too, since the system is under pressure. And also, wait for the truck to cool down.
I cannot imagine it is nice to have hot coolant over your hands.
