POWERMASTER 200 AMP PROBLEMS

I wanted to let you all know my POWERMASTER 200 amp alternator had to be sent back. Seems my battery light was coming on while driving and at idel. Does anyone know what would cause this to happen? I questioned the regulator at first and was told the right one was in there. Doesnt seem to be perfected for the AVY yet. I'll keep posting my results. AJ

Powermaster is a local company here in knoxville. They have problems with alot of products. If you must have try a different brand.

Well the alternator is still not back from POWERMASTER and I have been getting the run around for a month now. There customer service is not very organized. I'll update later on any progress but it isn't looking good. Just an update for now

I've been dealing mostly by email. I'm being told they had to order a part from manufacture. My question was "ARENT THEY THE MANUFATURE"? NO ANSWER from them yet after that question. I think it was the regulator.

AJ, I would say if you have to wait another week or so, go with another manufacturer, and just get powermaster to give you your $$ back, because it sounds like the company has too many issues and you shouldn't have to deal with that.

Your right James, Ill give it a shot with my money back. What alernator would you or any other members recommend?

I haven't gotten a new alternator yet, it is one of those mods that has been sitting there for a long time, and has just gotten pushed back, because of others.
I know there are a bunch of other members that have new alternaters, some got them through the dealer, opted for the heavy-duty one, and others got aftermarket like a 200-amp model, which is what I will get when I do the dual Batt mod; Then I'll be able to run big-a$$ floodlights on the front of the AV so those slow drivers will move to the side of the road. .

If you do a search I am sure you could find out what amp alternators and models different members have.

I bought a 160 amp alternator, dual battery kit and optima battery from Wrangler NW Power Products at:

Not cheap, but the service is good, and the product high quality. Next time, I would buy the battery locally.

I need the help of the smart tech guys in the club. ?I got the alternator back from repairs and it still isn't working well. ?At idel with all accesories (engine warm) my volt meter shows a surge every now and then. ?Goes from 14.? to a little under 14 volts. ?The most noticable thing that happens is the dash lights dim while the volts are dropping. ?Sorry so long was wondering if the Avy computer needs to reprogram itself in some way to accept the new alternator? ?And if time will just rid this problem.
