Okay...I'm really sorry if this has already been discussed somewhere, but I've done numerous searches and can't find it.

Where is everyone buying the Pro Cold air intake from? I haven't been able to find one anywhere online yet.

onlyh one place....the one listed on that long thread...

try here

IM TRYING TO DECIDE WHICH ONE WILL GIVE THE BEST PERFORMANCE AND STILL BE QUIET. ALSO, DO YOU REALLY NOTICE ANY DIFFERCE IN POWER?

I do not hear the intake with the PC but I have FLowmaster exhaust....

Suggest reading the various threads on intakes in here

If you are not into serious off roading go for the Pro Cold.
I have had both the Volant and Pro Cold and without question the Pro Cold gives more performance than the Volant.
As far as sound and looks go the Volant has all other intakes beat.

I think they are pretty comparable.

I can't speak for the pro-cold
because I don't have any first
hand knowledge of it. They
are alot of supporters of it
on this forum. I think If
I ever get another truck I'll
get one and give it a shot.

The volant I think is a really
nice intake. Just from installation
and from using it. I think the
material is pretty high quality
and it fits together really well.

Both are much better in their
design and execution than
the open filter elements under
the hood. (Ie K+N and AEM).

Best advice I can give you is
email or pm people who have
the Procold or the Volant.
Thats what I do when I don't
know to much about something.

If you look at Dyno charts make sure
you don't look at the numbers but look
at the percentage change % from stock.
This will give a better indicator of performance
than just looking at raw HP numbers.

Aetatis.

i have the K&N myself. however, i have read and heard that the ProCold is the way to go. a definite power increase. a little more than most other kits.
i also agree that it would not be a good idea if off-roading is of a high priority. too much possibility of crap getting in your filter/ intake/ throttle body.

Im debating wether to go with pro cold or volant. I'm scared of water getting the there. Has this ever happend? Is it possible? I do alot off road.. A power increase would be nice but i would not want to harm my engine.

I don't know about the volant but the procold's filter points straight down where the horn is installed. So, if you hit a big mud hole or water then it is possible for the filter to get wet.

I am buying a K&N filter sock to minimize this.

I just replaced my stock filter with the K&N and was surprised to see that I managed to get mud in there?
and after cleaning it turned out to be about a handfull of the stuff??? :D:

I suggest you read this thread.....the original ...as the discussion of water intrusion was extenesively covered....
