Problem with Crossmember/Alignment

My Truck was making a popping noise when turning left and right. I took it to the dealership and they said they took out the crossmember, drilled it out, and put it back together. I got it back friday and it has been driving horribly since then. Tracking was dead on before, but now it wanders. I took it back asking for an alignment since i had one done two weeks ago, and now it is garbage after I got it back from them. The service manager said that what they did had nothing to do with the alignment.

Am I right or wrong? Is the service manager right? Any help would be appreciated.

I had my crossmember "Fixed" and it was fine. Then a couple months later (a couple weeks ago) I had it in for the Intermediate steering shaft (replaced) and they said the crossmemebr wasn't fixed correctly so they "resecured" it. Now the front end feels stiff and rides like it's got 80lbs of air in the front tires. It rattles the windows when you hit a bump. The steering wheel is slightly off center. The Tech also told me my front tires are cupping on the inside. Which all makes me wonder what they did to my front end. Sounds like they should have done an alignment when they got done with it. :7:

Refugio - I had the same problem and it occurred about 6 months after I bought my AV. My steering was never a problem but the dealer insisted that the steering shaft needed lube. So they lubed it once, I took it back about a week later because that didn't fix the problem. So they lubed it again, even though I had told them it had been done and it didn't solve anything. :7:
About 3 months later I finally said, "This is it! I can't stand this sound any longer!" :8: I took it back again, this time they enlarged the holes on the crossmember between the a-arms. This worked great!
Six months later, well it was back! The popping sound all over again. :8: :8:
I just got my truck finished today and they ordered 10 shims (p/n:000-015018264 for 5 and p/n:000-015018263 for 5) and this seems for now to quieten the suspension and maybe stopped the poppin sound!!!! ;D
BUT MY FINGERS ARE STILL CROSSED!

txyank1 - I have not had these problems. If it was installed wrong before, now it sounds like it's really out of wack!! I would take it back to the dealer - ASAP!!!!

Just my .02
