PROTECTION FOR TAILGATE ????

I want to keep it from getting all scratched up...any ideas....I tried a black carpet with a rubber backing and tried the "heavy duty" velcro thinking that would hold....

NOPE....I do not want to drill holes or permanantly attach anything...


Has anyone here found anything to work?

you are talking about the part that lays flat right ? I have put some pretty nasty things in my truck ( scratch wise ) nothing that i have seen out , but would be interested in learning about something ...

I bought a rubber bed mat for a full size Chevy for my S-10 at Big Lots for $5.00, cut it down to fit. Extra piece fit on the tail gate, didn't slide bad but I got tired of taking it on and off and just used stainless screws.

You mean on top of tailgate ? the old rubber mat has fingerlike bottom and doesn't move at all in bed, the extra piece gripped good but I got too lazy take it on and off., I got a factory second from close out store for a full size truck and cut it down.
