I just met with a dealer today in the Chicagoland area for a new 03' Avalanche .The MSRP was $39,330.00 .His best numbers were $100.00 below invoice, less rebates..($4,500.00)Is this a good a good # considering the 04's are in stock.Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a good number to me. What did their final offer come in at? What kind of equipment/model are looking at (Z71, Z66, Northface, Base Model, 2500)?

for that price it better not be a base model, or Z-66. although, i have seen a Z-66 WBH w/ leather for $38k. are they stupid? if that price you mentioned involves 4WD in anyway i think it is a good price, i.e. Z-71, 2500, or North Face.

You might be surprised at what the dealers are pricing the Z-66's at around here 38K is about the norm for a decked out one. I agree you would have to be stupid to buy it for that much, but that's what they're asking off the bat. They even have one on a local dealers web-site for $50,301 . I'm going to have to go by and see this...has to be a typo?!?

Just for grins I went to Edmunds and looked. Took a z66 and added some options to get close to MSRP. At MSRP of $39,247 Invoice is $34,351 -$100, -$4500, puts you at $29,751. Edmunds lists their "True Market Value" as $34,668 minus the 4500 for a price of $30,168. Sounds like a good deal to me. BUT, like has been said many times....it's what YOU think is a good deal that counts. You'll always find somebody who did better. Good luck to you. (y)

THE 03' AVALANCHE WAS A Z71.IT DID NOT HAVE THE BODY HARDWARE.IT HAD THE BLACK LUGGAGE ROOF CARRIER,BODY SIDE MOLDINGS,CRUISE,UPGRADED BOSE SYSTEM WITH THE 6 DISC IN DASH AND THE BLACK ASSIST STEPS.(THE DEALER WANTED AN EXTRA $250.00 TO UPGRADE TO CHROME)I JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF IT SHOULD BE DISCOUNTED MORE BECAUSE THE 04'S ARE ALREADY THERE.

To give you an idea... I got mine about 5 weeks ago. The '04 were there and they really wanted to sell me one of them. But the rebates were just to good on the '03. Anyway,

Good Luck!

Adam

Just so it's said, GM in the Driveway discount changes based on options. Adam's discount was $9901. Please don't expect the same discount unless you are looking at a similarly equipped model.

For those of you who are waiting on the GM in the Driveway Certs from me, I left them at home today. They'll go out first thing in the morning.

Craig

Very true Craig. I should have mentioned that. In fact the same truck WITH leather was actually less (bigger discount) problem is it was blue and I really wanted the red one. (y)

 $50,000 That's ridiculous! The dealer I bought my z-71 from had an 03 z-66 Red completely Loaded (leather, sunroof, onstar, steps, etc.) for $28,500 because it had sat on the lot over 90 days. I really hope that $50,000 was a typo on the dealer's part. I got my 03 z-71 for a little over dealer's cost. I paid around $32,000.
