Put in a new radio and door chime won’t go off now when I’m driving

So I put in a new radio. On a my 2002 avalanche. It works fine when I’m in park but when I go to drive the door chime comes on like I’m not wearing a seat belt and no matter what I do it dint stop till the truck it’s completely stopped
 
First, welcome to the website!
One thing I try to get owners considering a radio system swap is to contact customer service at crutchfield.com by phone if possible so you can explain the exact AV you own and what features you desire, they are great at providing you a whole kit to allow you to plug and play including wiring harnesses etc.
 
There are “special” harnesses to use depending on the year of the truck to maintain all functions. The factory radio is not only the radio, but it also controls the door chimes, seat belt chimes, steering wheel controls, etc.
Give Crutchfield a call, and see what harness you’ll need.
 
Ik the radio 03 up it’s controlled by the radio but in the 02 it’s under the dash. Thinking about just taking

the the control module out for the chime. Cause I have the harness that plugs into the onstar and factory radio
 
Did you remove the OnStar at the same time? I believe that the OnStar module is what controls the chimes.
