Welcome to the club, WTAMU! And congratulations on your new truck. (y)

The North Face Edition (TNF) is a special edition of the truck which is available from the factory in 2002 and 2003. I believe they are no longer available in 2004. It appears to be a cross-marketing agreement with The North Face company (maker of camping and outdoor equipment) similar to the Eddie Bauer edition Fords.

A TNF edition is similar to a Z-71, but includes special badging, special leather seats, duffle bags, day packs, and white face gauges. (There is probably more, but I don't recall off of the top of my head.) They were also available in a special color, Sage Green, that is exclusive to the TNF model.

Others have wondered about the sales figures, but I have never seen them broken down this way, so I have no idea how many were made/sold. There are a few TNF owners in the club, but out of almost 8000 members, I think that the count of TNF Avs is probably in the single digit range. That should give you a feel for how few of them are out there.

I know that personally, while I typically see several Avs a day (yesterday I lost count at 8, I was was only able to tag one) I have only seen 1 TNF Av in person, and it was going the other way down the highway so I only had a quick glimpse of a sage green streak go by.

Has anybody seen sales figures? ???

Don't forget the special floormats. lol

I have a 2002 Summit White NFE. I have yet to see another one in my travels. Since there is no Z71 or Z66 badging on the side people ask me a lot if it's a 4 x 4 or not.

Welcome to the club!

Wow I had no idea they were that rare! Thanks for the info!!

I'd say it's safe to call it a Limited Edition. (y)

I too have a Summit White NFE and have only seen two others, but none in any lots in the area. They are a rarity that do get lots of looks from those who don't have one.

If it hadn't been sage green would you have even known it was an NFE?

A good point. When I see an Av, I usually check out the rear fender to see what model it might be. Around here (in snow country) it seems it's about 90% Z-71, 9% 4x4, and the last percent being either Z-66 or base (no emblem.) Seeing as the NFE (other than yours) has no rear fender emblem, just a small C pillar badge, I suppose it's possible that some of the base models I saw were in fact NFE. But even if all of them were, the number I've seen would still probably be in the single digit range.

But you are right, I could've missed a few "sleepers."

There is a thread in the MOD & acc section about it........not too long ago either...either use search or look on the first 2-3 pages for it...
