Hi,
Today I went to the dealer to pay for the key fob for my 2011 Avalanche, and to pay to have it programmed. Left to grab lunch. All was well.
Then I asked about getting the key itself.
Was told I'd have to pay for the key, and for the "code".
Paid for those.
I then found out the key needed to be programmed, too. They said the key has a "chip" in it, thus the need for programming. I told them the fob was just programmed a few hours earlier, can't they do the key too, at no charge? They told me that since the fob was already done and paid for, they'd have to charge me to program the key. However, they said that I could do the key programming myself, just look online for info.
Does this sound legit?
Thanks for your advice and info,
