NHRA rules for 2007 require anyone with forced induction to have a fire jacket. I've spoken to a few people and I found a guy that has 2 types available.

One style is made with Indura, it's a cheap material and is only available in 3 colors, black, red and blue. The sizes are from small to XXL. These are 60.00 plus embroidering if you choose.

The other style is made with Nomex, which is a much more durable and is available in a wide range of colors. They can also do custom sizing as well. These are 130.00 plus embroidering.

We can get a deal on embroidering if we get 15 or more. My thoughts were to put a "generic" design on the back "Avalanche Racing Team" and our names and possibly screen names on the front.

Then leave room if we want to put our chapter decals on there as well.

I guess before I proceed I'd like to get an idea of how many people are interested. It would be really cool to be at Both tracks in Nashville with AV racing jackets. >:D

We need to do this ASAP to be ready for Nashville, but for us FI guys its a necessity to race with.

No money will be sent to me and I'm not making any money on this, nor am I recieving a jacket. I am paying what everyone else is.

Here is a link to the company I spoke withhttp://www.s-aenterprises.com/jackets.htm

Thanks, Mark sorry for the long post

Great information!!  Makes me wanna go FI!  :E:  or atleast get the jacket!

You can still get the jacket >:D. I think they will look really cool. Get the better ones and order them in a color close to our AV's

On Wednesday and Friday nights at the local 1320 in Bifflo you can pretty much ride a Supercharged Lawnmower down the track in a thong and they don't care... But, if you run the 1320 in under like 12.0 (or something like that) you are supossed to have to at least wear a brain bucket and long pants... I guess things really are more laid back in the far south. LoL  Hell last time a friend of mine went he said a guy ran under 11.0 in an old RX7 with no cage or brain bucket and they kept letting the guy run!!!

That's true.? Down here if it has 4 tires, they pretty much let you run.? I've raced a 7.xx second (in the 1/8th) hatchback mustang with nitrous, no blow down tube, no box over the bottle, no helmet, no fire suit, no roll bar, no driveshaft loop, ect, ect.? They never said a word about it.

To bad it would be a LARGE guy with a 12 pack of Rolling Rock under one arm and a chewed up cigar hanging out his mouth.

If you ever see a hot chick racing like that, call me, I'll be there in 25 minutes!

When I went racing both times last year I was told I wouldn't be able to race without it this year. New NHRA rules this year. Also they changed the helmet rating to a snell 2000. This was anyone with FI didn't matter how fast. They maybe a little less strict about it down there. But I would hate for us all to get to Nashville and not be prepared.

If i was able to make the GTG you know i would have to have a Jacket and helmet that matched my truck... probably better for my wallet that i can't make the gtg. Going to Europe is going to wind up costing less then this GTG would have cost me... LoL  :p

I'm trying to get better pics, I'll post them when i get them later. To bad you can't make it LA. Good to see you back anyway.
