I had this issue earlier this year, my radio does not shut off when the driver's, driver's rear door or front pass. door is opened. I replaced the latch in the driver's door but no luck. Is there a relay involved here? If does does anyone know the name of it, where it's located? The only door that turn off the radio is the rr door.

Do the interior lights come on when opening the driver's door to enter?

Did you verify the "Mini Wedge (Door Jamb Switch) is working and associated electrical connections?
What's a mini wedge switch? There is no jamb (in the traditional sense, like a dome light switch in a 64 ford Galaxie) in the Avalanche, it's all done in the door latch.

Funny, I had posted this in another thread where someone else is have similar issue:

I think it is (9) "Mini Wedge (Door Jamb Switch)" in the latching mechanism. If you unplug that you will probably end up with all kinds of warnings like the driver door is open, etc.

(1)Driver Door
(2)Driver Door Module (DDM)
(3)Outside Rearview Mirror - Driver
(4)Window Motor - Driver
(5)Memory/Heated Seat Switch Connector
(6)Door Courtesy Lamp - Left Front
(7)Driver Door Panel

What passes for (does the job of) a jamb switch is integrated into the door latch. I guess it just too simple to keep using the tried but true, almost never fails, outlasts the rest of the vehicle, plain, stupid, jamb switch.

It's a big pain but I had to replace the driver side door latch assembly 3 times. Somehow the first 2 I got from Amazon I can't remember the brand but both malfunctioning every time I washed the dang truck, in rain, or even just cold dew wet mornings.
Would say driver side door open mostly until drying out, then Intermittent radio & lighting not shutting off with opening door. Had to jump & charge battery many times until recently I broke down & ordered expensive one it must be better sealed from water intrusion 🤞 has been better, I still need to buy new rubber inner driver door seal as cracking & ripping off to wear shoulder bumped too often enter/exit appearantly.
I wish I kept part # I ended up buying most recently to help out. Good luck

What has worked for me:
These proximity switches seem to have no moving components, I actually don't know how they work.. But I have had good success by spraying the smithereens out of them (thru the latch assembly) with WD40 when they act up.. I cannot explain why this works, but it has worked for me over the years.. Soaking them w/ WD40 @ each oil change has kept the problem from resurfacing.. coincidence maybe, if nothing else it makes me feel good.

Probably magnetic and the spraying with WD40 probably cleans the surface contact areas (probably most likely probably could be probably makes sense to me).
