Radio RDS Display Problem

Noticed an interesting problem starting yesterday. My song and artist display on the stations that use RDS isn't changing. The same song and artist has been on a station for over a day. To night coming home from work, I checked out a couple of the other stations that use RDS, none were showing the correct title or artist for the song that was playing. Any ideas on this. Anything I can try or "reset" before I take it in for servicing. I have a grand total of 1600 miles on the AV and really hope that this is something easily fixable. :6:

Any suggestion or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I think it may be more of a radio station issue then the AV..... hope so at least...

Well..I hope so too, but 5 out of 5 stations were displaying the wrong song, (each was a song that wasn't changing as the station was playing different songs)

I noticed the same type of thing with mine. Haven't paid any attention lately,... may have to look at it again. I would tend to think it is a radio station thing more than a truck problem as they transmitt the signal.

I've noticed poor attention in updating data fed to the equipment with some stations in the LA area too. Or they simply "hang" and no one cares! Other stations (usually or NPR or the like) tend to keep them up for their beg screens.
'Glad I have XM now.

You may have already tried this ....but hit the "info" button when it appears that the head unit is hung up on the RDS display information. It may take this cue and attempt to refresh the data for the current song.

Another thing I noticed today was that when you have one of your preset stations tuned-in ....you can push in the tuning or "rcl" button for at least two seconds and you will hear a beep. The display will then show the station's number and the number of the preset that you have assigned to it. Prior to doing this, the preset station number would only stay on the display for a couple of seconds but now it stays lit up so it helps to know where you are on your pre-sets if you scroll through them like me.

Actually, I do not know too much about RDS stations and their broadcast info. In my area, there are very few stations that broadcast RDS info and none of them display song title and artist. Also none of them have a synchronizing time signal to set the radio clock per the Owner's manual. :9:

I read this week that Clear Channel is thinking of running ads via RDS!

How can we tick off listeners - let us count the ways...
