So... I was taking with my fabricator today... a he asked me about the club i belong to... and that lead to more talking and talking about my hood I'm getting done... and that lead to me saying something about how the guys here are really into ram air hoods while the hood I'm doing is a drop style, and then he said well... maybe we can make two molds. ?and that lead to... well how many people want a ram air hood (non functional)?

This is what it would look like, and they will run somewhere around $500. These are not orders. we just need feedback. If we get enough replies... you're looking at a month to two for production.

Having a non-functional ram air hood IMHO is like putting a big wing spoiler on a base Honda Civic. :9: If I'm going to put a ram air hood on my Avalanche, I'm going to have ram air induction to go with it! >:D

It is interesting, but I just can't quite get into the angled nose - still waiting, does look nice though.

As to a ram air - not too useful and hard to get to the intake area, but something that would help cooling, now that is the ticket.^^

holes can be cut and sealed with rubber to make it function.

Ram air hoods are sweet but would someone please make me a 4 inch cowl induction hood? I want a cowl hood so damn bad. What is wrong with these manufactures? The AV has been out for 2 years now and I have not seen one aftermarket hood. I guess they do not realize how many people buy AV's

Hi, If it was set up to push air in over the engine (meaning openings under those scoops with a screen) I would want to take a look for sure. I plan to put a whipple on and am looking for a way to increase the air flow over engine. Kind of hard to to the ram air for 'feeding' the engine as the FIPK is in the front right corner.
Let me know if your guy plans to do something like that. Also is that painted, or one primer fits all?

Amen, we are on the same track - well put. Trust me, you will want increased air flow over a supercharged engine. ;D

I agree with all of you. I would be interested in some type of aftermarket hood for the AV. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I'd be interested in a hood but this design is too firebird snarly for me. You'll never please everyone but your effort is appreciated.

I would like to have on of these but I would like it to be functional. So I don't have to buy another hood. I'm doing mods slowly cause I don't have lots of money to do them all at once. But, but I guess non-funtional well work.

Jon has been working on getting us a ram air hood. We should know more next week. I think they are still about a month out but it will be coming. As soon as they are ready we will have a group buy on them. And yes they are funtional. :B:

Given the location of the Air Cleaner and the opening to the manifold...to make a ram air hood functional is going to required some major re-plumbing of the intake system. Good luck...Keep us posted on what you come up with.

Instead of changing the entire intake system, why couldn't the hood openings be above the air filter box. The one on the pass. side could be functional and the one above the battery could be non-functional (but look functional. I know that this would take away from the "look", but it would cut down on the overall cost of the mod by keeping the intake in place. My $.02
