Where can I find one of these? I have looked and looked I can't find any. All I can find is an escalade. Please help.

If your referring to the Road Champs Avalanche, I got lucky and found one today at Kmart that comes with a trailer with two dirt bikes on it.

Define "R/C" as a cheepie, or more of a kit form Gas/Electric type.

The latter offer sizes that have Avalanche paintable plastic body shells.
Hobby specialty stores usually stock all of the stuff.
Just make sure that you have the Av body in hand that fits the chassis you're buying! (And maybe a spare).
I don't remember any R/C Av's on the low-end R/C market but Costco had Hummer's and would you believe a Terradyne!!

'Guess the K-Mart one is it for the low-end stuff!

I had received this inexpensive RC from my parent's. Was found in Albertson's a grocery store. Came with a little ATV w/ seperate remote.

Too bad I don't live in CA I would just swing on by and try to pick one up.

RENORCR that is what I am looking for. ;D

Sperry where would you find an Avalanche paintable plastic shell. Theres not to many stores here in Enid, OK as there is. Thanks for the help all.

I have the Traxxas E-Trax with Avalanche Body. The body is made by Bolink, Part# BL2232.

Truck: http://www.traxxas.com/products/electric/emaxx/trx_emaxx.htm

Body: Bolink Website is down. But you can find it at many hobby shops via the above part number.

Hey YellowZ71, this pic is for you.

Not my truck. I can not paint that good. I found this online while I was looking for a good link for the body and thought of you.

Ya know, I think the owner of this truck must be a CAFCNA member. I was looking at the photos again and I just realized that this front shot has Amber DRL's!!!!

Anyone recognize this truck?

Edited: Found out that this truck belongs to Derek Marquardt, a.k.a. endeavorc!!

Do a search on the Web for Radio Control 1:6 Scale 7.2V Chevy Avalanche Truck with Battery Pack and Charger by New Bright.

I had gotten mine back in September has a present.

Try Kmart or Walmart if any.

I can't believe someone found some pictures online of my Av

The body is made by Bolink and is mounted on an HPI Racing Savage21

I only have about 3 weeks into the body for prep and paint work. The pictures do not do the graphics justice, think chameleon paint for the tribal graphics that changed from gold to red to purple to green.

The body runs around 20-25 dollars and will fit the E-Maxx, T-Maxx, Savage, Monster GT and a few others.

Circuit City in Fashion Island, Newport Beach, CA has about 8 of them sitting in the middle of the floor.

They had them on sale for Black Friday, in store only. Struck out at both local ones, wanted one for my son. Decent enough quality, it seemed and of notable good size.

By chance do you know what they are going for now that it's off sale?

Hiya endeavorc,
I found your pics using Google when I was searching for the Bolink Body. You were one of the first hits too. You posted your pics on the HPI Racing website. In fact my post contains a direct link to the pics on that site. That way I did not have to take up space here on the CAFCNA site to have them displayed in the post.

I like the paint job. Looks real good. The color shifting paint on your Tribal Graphic sounds cool. Wish I could see them.

My Avalanche body is still unpainted. I have been too nervous to try it yet. As I said in my earlier post, my painting skills are pretty poor. The last time I tried painting a model car it looked as if it were done by a child. :-[

Can you give me some tips on painting RC Bodies? This will be my first.

Hey!! Better idea!! You should make some money on the side painting Av bodies!!! >:D j/k

The best tips I can give you are to make sure you wash the inside of the body extremely well. Use a light tack masking tape (the blue kind if you can find it), draw your design on the masking tape and cut it out BEFORE you put the tape on the body. Have patience, even thin coats are better than thick coats, let the coats dry about 30 min between them.

Another alternative for graphics are to use either pre-cut vinyl bought designs or if you have access to a vinyl cutter are to make your own.

Be creative, I went with a stock look with a design on that body but I have also done others.

For more ideas go to R/C Gallery for pictures of some other ones. I will try to upload more pictures also.

The best thing I can tell you is to have fun, if you mess up the body go grab another one if its real bad.

PS, I would not have a problem painting bodies for other people but they would have to get the body to me and back to them. I would not be able to guarantee the turn-around time though so they would have to have patience.

Thanks for the tips. I am gonna have to break down and give it a go. Like you said, if I mess it up to bad I can always get another body.

Lucky for me Bolink is based here in my home town, only 2 miles from where I work. They have a hobby shop in the back of their building where you can buy direct. In fact I was just there yesterday during lunch. I went by to pick up some extra batteries for my sons RC Car and found out that they are having a big race this weekend. Thinking about swinging by and watching some Pro's race on their in-door track.

I will take my camera with me and post some pics.

I went by the Bolink Warehouse Hobby Shop again over the weekend to watch the races. They were pretty awesome.

While I was there I looked over the items for sale. They had Avalanche bodies that are "blemished" for $5. I looked over two of them and could not see any obvious blemishes. If anyone is interested in picking up one of these bodies let me know. I can either give you the direct contact info for the store or ship them to you. Might be easier to deal with the store as they take credit cards and I do not.

Here is mine. I got it from Radio Shack around Christmas time last year. It is fast and pretty powerful for a non-hobby quality RC. I have had many RCs and am very pleased with this one. It was once pewter colored with a bunch of tcky decals. Now she matches my truck. Except for the cladding :cautious: I wish I had painted cladding too :B:

JayFortay, nice job on painting your RC AV. I found the exact same Pewter color with decals at Radio Shack here, and actually picked up two on sale just after Christmas. Have one stripped down and hope to paint it Green, like my AV. Haven't decided exactly what to do (paint wise) with the 2nd :cautious: These units were $CDN90 each .... I tossed another $400 on batteries and chargers , which includes around $120 for two of the new High Cap batteries which aren't in stock till around Jan 15.

btw, the new High Capacity battery is just now becomming available, and has (I believe) 4200mw of power. These are NiMH battery packs. That should power these RC units around for upwards to 2 hours on a single charge (y)

I'll try to post pics of the base (Pewter color) RC and the new battery pack later this week.
