Re calibration of heater blower door

All directions I have found say to remove the HVAC/ECAS 10 fuse. Hmmm...not one of those fuses labeled on an 2002.

Found the fuse. I keep forgetting the fuse panel on the inside of the drivers side dash. Lets go see if the procedure works

So much for DIY on this one. Tried the fuse removal procedure and that didn't work.
At least there is heat at feet and defrost, the last position it was in. Going to have my son
Take care of it, time for some payback after paying for his 2 years at Wyo Tech.

did not know 2002 had a relearn procedure... I assumed there was....

good luck and let us know what issue is after your boy fixes it...

Maybe there isn't, most directions for that are 03+. There is a service bulletin about the wires chaffing on some support
under the dash. Guess I'll have to try and scan it. Hopefully won't have to replace the actuator gear or the assembly.
Probably going to take a while as my son lives 2 hours away. Might throw a meter on it.
Some of the smallest things can be a pain in the toilet.

Here is that layout of the inside fuse box. Use HVAC 1 for recalibration.

do you have auto or manual ac? Tick marks or numbers on the dial?

You have auto air and your problem is the blend door actuator motor. I have the same system and just replaced mine  do to not mixing.  (y)

I found the actuator on the drivers side. Need to be slinky man to get in there.
I'll take it out in the morning. Time to open a fresh bottle of wine.

Yep thats it, and it's tight but use extensions and a swivel 8mm socket.  (y)

Success. That one goes on the top ten list of pain in the keister. That gear that is on the actuator has to go on those 2 separate cam followers was the test. I had to walk away twice.
Calibrated and works as designed.

I have this system too on my 02.  I am not getting any cold air out of the A/C.  I can feel the pipes running through the firewall and they are cold but the air is hot.  Is this a blend door problem?  Heat works just fine.

Yes, yours is the other actuator that is just to the right of the trans hump on the bottom for the ac unit.
Look here.

Wow that's a lot easier than the one on the drivers side. May as well change the cabin filter while
your in there.

Don't want to get too far ahead here.  It is cold here.  I will wait until my wife is complaining about being to hot before I change the actuator.   Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow.

Know this is an old thread, but my drivers side was doing this. I followed these instructions and it reset the actuator. Found it on an amazon review before buying the part I thought I needed. When it resets you can hear it working.

I however never installed it when I found I could re-calibrate the HVAC system by doing the following:

1. go to the fuse panel under the hood and pull the 10 amp fuses for the HVAC
2. turn the key to vehicle on for 20-30 seconds then back off
3. replace the fuses
4. turn the key to vehicle on again and you can hear the HVAC actuators cycle through re-calibrating themselves
5. turn the key off, replace the fuse cover and close the hood

My vehicle was having a problem with the driver's side vents losing the cold air after a bit as the blend actuator eventually closed. the passenger side always stayed cold.

After I performed the steps above the problem went away.

I now have a spare part on my shelf.

Keeping the thread current. Same deal. Drivers side AC was blowing hot. Turned the truck off, then back on, and its back to normal. Reset it'self. For now....For now.
Went out and bought a $43 Dornan Brand replacement for the "parts bin"...

Mine is doing it again, its best to replace the part eventually, but this is a quick fix that works.
