Hey guys, those of you that are running lifted 2500's what are you using for wheels and tiers, are the tires still E rated and the wheels strong? i plan on towing and carrying lots of weight in mine and im thinking hard on a 6" susp lift and wondered about tire/wheel options. I would like to get maybe 20" wheels and 35" tires, and maybe some black aluminum wheels, anyone got any suggestions or pictures/links????

I have these on order(back order that is) with toyo open country mt only in 18s  33 X 12.5 (SO NO WORRY ABOUT RUBBING) but I am sure the would look sweet on your truck they are kmc xd rockstars the toyos are 10 ply? E rated

Pro comp has a variety of tire design in 20" 33 & 35 (but wide 13.5)
and not sure of rating

Super swamper has trxus Mud Radials 20" 33 & 35 if they are like My Trxus A/T's they are e-rated

I see a lot of 20"-- 36"to 39" tire

I have 20" with 33" tires (305/55R20) Toyo AT's with a 4" Tough Country lift.  I tow a 8,000lb trailer quite often and haven't had any issues.

Not sure what the tires are rated, but I'm sure you can find that out.

Mine has a 6" lift with 305/70/17's.. I pull a 5500 lbs boat and trailer at 75 mph and have had 3000 lbs of concrete turfstone in the bed and barely felt it.... Go For It....

Mine isn't lifted (yet) but, I did make the mistake once of not noticing that an online tire store shipped me 'D' rated instead of the 'E' I ordered.  I noticed right away after I installed them.  The sidewall flex was so bad that the truck walked all over the road...stick with 10 ply IMHO.

I have 03 2500 with a 6" Fabtech lift.   I put 20" Diamo Di16's on with some BFG allterrains.   Love the rims(look sweet)  and the tires are tough.   I have 50 000KM on them and could still get another season.   This truck is my daily driver but see's lots of offroad.   Even jumped it a few times.

If you jumped your 2500. . . I seriously would have the frame checked!!  I took my 2002 offroading after having it for 4 months and did a small dip which caused the front to jump about 3 feet high going 20 mph. . . when I took the truck in for service my dealership calld and said that I have "Frame damage". . . about $10,000 worth, which means new frame. . so I have a 2002 with 2003 frame. . . no crapping!!

Not meaning to change the subject from cracked frames, but are there any 2500 owners out there who have an RCD (Race Car Dynamics) lift?

If so, what do you like about it?
What do you dislike?
Would you buy the same brand or another?

I have the RCD lift and have had no problems- except the lift kit is just an inch or two to little (6 inch lift installed).  I had toyo 33's and they rubbed.  Got some keys installed and torqued it up and of course tried 35's- suprise they rubbed also.  Some aggressive cutting and beating fixed it but a bigger lift would have helped alot.  Plus they really stick out and make the truck a mess in the winter.

For those of you who have lifted the 2500, are there any that have 16X7 wheels and 265/75/16 tires?
I like the idea of a 6" lift, but want to keep the Alcoa wheel/tire combo I have now.
Anyone?

I lifted my Avalanche a year or so after I bought it and had the RCD kit installed.  The installer "leveled out" the suspension so I got 7" of lift.  I thought I could run with the stock wheels and tires until I was able to buy new online.  Problem was the back of the front wheels would not turn with the lift installed.  Had to have the installer order wheels and tires and paid his price.

Do you see any problem with the 6" RCD lift and 16X7 wheels and 265/75/16 tires? They are a little larger than stock.

You should not have a problem with that combo, tires will look small with a 6" lift if you ask me

I dont have the RCD lift but I have a 7" BDS on mine with 35x12.50R20 load range E, and it's a 2500.

265/75r16 would look small, maybe a 305/70r16 would be better if you plan to keep the OEM wheels, it's the backspacing on the wheels that will get you if I had to guess. You would probably need spacers or a wheel with a little more offset.
