Re-located autoride compressor to saddle bag mod!

Good idea. Parts stash, love doing that.  (y)

I'm not sure that the mounting bracket will fit in the saddle bag. Let us know if it does.

The compressor should never be effected by the elements or corrosion with it stashed in the saddle bag. An OEM compressor should last 200k easily if the lines and bags are all in working order and don't burn it out.

Did you keep your stock compressor and just replace the dryer and sensor?

I was signing my lease here in Gillette when I noticed that my landlord (well his parents) drive an 08 ltz and his biggest complaint was the air ride suspension. I wonder what it would take to swap to the new magnetic ride control that the new SUVs have.

My stock compressor was so trashed. I replaced it with an Arnott brand. Then warranty for another Arnott brand. I still had the original dryer and sensor but with I rebuilt the dryer. Found out later that the sensor/harness changed and only comes with a new dryer with new guts.

I'm looking into doing this with mine, found out today that my compressor is trashed, but further reading leads me to believe I have a leak, the compressor used to run every day on start up for about 10 seconds. Now it's seized (got it to run for two seconds with a couple swift smacks  :beating: but then heard it groan to a stop). Did anyone have any luck actually mounting the compressor inside the saddle, and any tips on finding leaks I saw the soap trick on the boots but what about the lines

My compressor is still sitting in the saddle bag, I have a piece of foam I want to stick under it. The system has worked flawless since moving the compressor. Well worth the time and effort.

Finally got around to doing this, I was waiting till I came up with a pair of shocks to change out the compressor. I got the compressor moved all wired up new shocks in everything works great! Except now I have my dash flashing with service stabilitrac and service traction control, the abs light is on. I plugged in the reader and it gave me the code C0050 which is right rear wheel speed circuit. I have no idea where to even start.  :help:

Same thing they did to me, so much for a free account
