Re-route backup camera signal from mirror

I have a 13 Avalanche with the backup camera that displays in the mirror. Has anyone intercepted the signal and fed it into an aftermarket head unit? I was trying to locate the connector in the kick panel. I believe the Trucks have it in the driver side, but I heard that the SUV/Avy's have it in the pass side kick. If anyone have done this successfuly, please share.

I was trying to avoid tapping into the harness by the mirror and running the RCA across the headline and down the A-pillar.

Thanks in advance,

Bill

Does this help?
Might have to search for ISRVM (inside rear view mirror)

In other threads I read that if the camera shows up in your mirror - the unit under the pass seat does not deal with the camera (perhaps it just deals with the backup sensors?)

Searching for ISRVM is related to ambient temp sensor - not video input.

Also - what is the source of those documents? I'd like to try and find 2013 versions that may include video information.

ISRVM is just the acronym for inside rear view mirror. Several components are routed to or through it including video feed, compass, and even a light sensor for auto-dimming purposes.

I purchased the Factory Service Manual dvd on ebay. I only looked for a couple minutes but I'm not immediately seeing a 2013, hopefully you have better luck. This is an example https://www.ebay.com/itm/313346321857/

Ok did some more digging.. Review this pdf for the 'rear vision camera' and 'rear video camera'. At the very least there are schematics and circuit tests.

I doubt there were large changes between the 2012 and 2013 versions of the Avalanche, they wouldn't put any money into the development of a vehicle slated to be discontinued.
